3 generation family holiday
Orroland is a very spacious and well equipped house set in very large and interesting grounds. We enjoyed a three generation family holiday. The gardens , private beach and surroundings provide ample scope for outdoor activities - walking, cycling, playing on the beach and visiting Threave NT. Many thanks to our hosts who were very helpful. Thank you

Lovely family get-together
Orroland Lodge was comfortable and well-equipped. The view from the terrace of the Solway Firth was lovely, we saw dolphins ( or porpoises!) a few times. There was plenty of space for outdoor games and although I didn't personally see it because of mobility issues, there is a beach hut which the owners are currently renovating.

Fairytale wild flower garden is out of this world!
This property was a perfect size for our family reunion. The layout provides ample living space and privacy. The views are outstanding and the walk to the lake was Glorious thanks to all of the wildflowers in bloom.

Summer holiday
Lovely house, lots of space inside and out. Beautiful location and incredibly peaceful. We enjoyed watching the wildlife.....mainly rabbits and a red squirrel. We all enjoyed barbecuing and eating outside. We were very lucky with the weather. The rocky beach was hazardous, and not ideal for swimming except at high tide. Quite a few cuts and grazes were sustained! There is lots to do in the area, and no shortage of local shops. We especially liked the milk, eggs and honey from the local community shop. The house is charming and comfortable but there were a couple of problems: the tumble dryer wasn’t working, a broken tap in the butler’s pantry meant we couldn’t use the sink there, the main fridge had a fishy smell which lasted a few days and the toaster needs a new timer switch. These things aside, we had a wonderful holiday and would highly recommend the house and it’s situation.
