Had an excellent stay at the Malmaison. It was my wife's birthday and there was a complementary card and chocolate in our room when we arrived. Stayed in a converted prison cell which was really good. Room spacious and comfortable with all modern features but prison themed. The conversion from a prison has been really skillfully carried out with a large number of the original features preserved. The only slight let down was the breakfast. We opted for the continental but the buffet ran out quickly and was very slow to be replenished. Also although there appeared to be plenty of staff they were very slow to acknowledge you and then respond to requests. We therefore went out for dinner both nights of our stay.
We live relatively locally but were out for an anniversary dinner so thought we’d treat ourselves to an overnight stay. This hotel has quite a London feel and it is immaculate, comfortable, modern and welcoming. We have stayed at two other Windsor/Eton hotels previously but this one is definitely superior!
Nice guesthouse located relatively close to Oxford
4 out of 5
The guest house was about a 20min walk or 5min bus ride from the Oxford city centre. The bus stop was just in front of the guest house. The guest house itself was inside a row of old houses but the interior had been renovated. I would describe it as clean and tidy but not having many niceties. The beds were comfortable.
Stayed here as a cheaper alternative to Stoke Park where we were attending a wedding. Stayed in a garden room near the entrance. Room v spacious with good bathroom (massive tub as well as separate shower). Service at breakfast was a bit slow but reception staff helpful and lovely grounds.
A comfortable hotel , the superior room with secured parking space and bfast included is a very good value. Walking everywhere was easy and pleasant. The airline Oxford bus picks you up from Heathrow and drops you 5 mins walk from the hotel if you don’t drive.
The Oakley Court is a beautiful hotel in really lovely grounds on the banks of the Thames. We stayed 2 nights and really enjoyed the atmosphere and decoration of the beautiful public rooms. The bar menu was excellent and the food delicious. We had paid for breakfast for 4 but missed it as breakfast finished at 9.30 during the week. Disappointing. Still loved the experience though and would recommend it to anyone.
