Family Time
The cabin size and location was perfect for us! The rules state no pets; however within 1 hour of arriving our daughter had a severe allergic reaction and had to call in a prescription steroid along with find another nearby hotel one week before Christmas, which was costly and disappointing to the plans. I am not allergic to animals, yet noticed the towels smelled musty upon arrival and I continued to wake up everyday with a bad headache along with more sneezing than usual. If no pets have been in the house leaving any dander on the blankets, quilts, coaches, rugs, etc, perhaps there is too much dampness, a leak or even mold in the house. Other suggestions would be to leave more detailed instructions on where to find the lockbox when arriving. I would have thought it to be at the front door, it's not. Took me a bit, but we found it. Also if the cleaning crew could be sure to leave out the welcome/guest book. We had to search in all the living room and kitchen draws before finally finding it. Searching for it didn't make us feel special as a new arrival. One negative is having to dispose of your own garbage and dealing with the local dump closing at noon on Saturday. We checked out on Sunday and of course the dump was still closed during that time. It would be nice to include the disposing of your garbage in your cleaning fee. It was certainly stressful trying to plan for something out of the ordinary. The cabin had all other amenities to meet our needs during the stay. We certainly liked being at the end of the road. It was very quiet and the scenery was beautiful!

5/5 Excellent

Perfect mountain getaway
My husband and I were seeking a change of scenery and fresh mountain air- and this home couldn’t have better met our needs. The cabin is simply beautiful and a great place to come home to after a day of exploring. The kitchen was well-appointed and we enjoyed grilling and eating out on the deck. Coming from Florida, we had great appreciation of the view enjoying mountain sunsets and being above the clouds on a couple of the foggy mornings. We left refreshed, relaxed and rested. The location was a convenient base for all of our day trips and our only regret was not having allowed ourselves more time to have stayed another night or two! With local wineries, breweries, small towns with quaint shops and spectacular mountain and lake views nearby there simply wasn’t enough time to take it all in. Some of our favorites: cities of Blue Ridge and Dahlonega... Crane Creek and Fainting Goat vineyards... Grumpy Old Men brewing and views from nearby Lake Chatuge. Our hosts were everything we could have asked for- contacting us before the trip to ensure our expectations were met, ensuring we had a clean, well-maintained property consistent with its online representation and being available should we have any concern/question. We took them up on it one evening when we were having difficulty lighting the gas fireplace and our host delighted us with a quick, courteous consultation to talk us through it.
