5 Stunning Barn Conversion Near Dale

Family-friendly holiday home in Haverfordwest
The Old Cowshed has over 40 5* Trip Adviser reviews! It is situated in the centre of the Dale peninsula down a private drive and as its name suggests was once the Cowshed at the Butterhill estate in St Ishmaels. The spot is utterly tranquil and genuinely far from the maddening crowd! It has been lovingly renovated and now possesses the Wow factor with a central living area open to oak A frames beams, a minstrels gallery, three double bedrooms all en suite, underfloor heating throughout, a boot room for discarding muddy boots and even a wet room for washing down the dogs. There is a large breakfast kitchen with doors opening to the secluded and totally private rear garden with patio containing a large table and chairs. There are TV's in both the kitchen and Lounge, a ferocious and large wood burning stove (free logs all year). There is also free wifi and telephone. The master bedroom suite contains a king size bed and the en-suite has a full size bath and a walk in shower. The other two bedrooms have twin beds. One has an en suite, again with a full size bath and a walk in shower. The other en suite has a walk in shower. The barn has been designed to maximise space and light. The gallery is an ideal spot in which to soak up the sun while reading a good book. The Old Cowshed is situated 2.5 miles from the seaside villages of Dale and Little Haven. The Dale peninsula benefits from the gulf stream and enjoys a microclimate with Dale recording more hours of sunshine then any other village in Wales. Dale is a mecca for sailing and coastal activities with opportunities for surfing, kayaking and fishing. Both villages have renowned eating houses. In 2015, The Griffin in Dale won second prize for the best tourist eating pub in all of Wales. Nearby, are some of Pembrokeshire's most spectacular beaches including Marloes (Snow White and the huntsman was filmed here!), West Dale, Litttle Haven, Broad Haven, Druidstone and Newgale. The Old Cowshed is an ideal place to stay if you plan visiting Skomer Island- Skomer being home to a vast population of puffins and other sea birds. The embarkation point at St Martins Haven is just a ten minute drive away. A little further up the coast is Solva and St Davids. Solva is a wonderfully pretty village with great pubs and restaurants, a woolen mill that is worth visiting and craft and art shops. St Davids is the smallest city in the UK, St Davids cathedral is well worth a visit as is St Nons right out on the headland. Nearby is Whitesands beach, the blue lagoon at Aberiddy and the pretty fishing village of Porthgain. Pembrokeshire also has its fair share of medieval castles - Pembroke, Manobier and Carew to name but few. The family can also enjoy the theme parks, animal farms, go karting and horse riding. Pembrokeshire is a magical county and in 2012 was voted by National Geographic as the second best coastal destination in the world losing out only to Newfoundland in Canada!

5/5 Excellent

Our stay at The Old Cowshed
Amazing ! Lovely few days away enhanced by the accommodation that was beautiful and comfortable. Fabulous communication with owner Loved it and would recommend to anyone thinking of staying.

5/5 Excellent

Almost perfect.
Earlier occupants had taken the kitchen television remote control so that was inoperable. Some light bulbs out in en-suites and water did not run freely from the wash hand basin in downstairs en-suite. Other than these facts which were reported at the time, the holiday and accommodation was fantastic. The barn conversion was beautifully done and also most tastefully furnished.

5/5 Excellent

Beautifully furnished and decorated cottage in a stunning location.
The cottage is decorated beautifully and furnished to an excellent standard. Everything you could want for a break is provided as well as a superb amount of space overall. It was warm and cosy on colder days. Lovely enclosed garden which was great for our small dog. Also nice to have the owners just opposite in case of any problems (which there weren’t anyway! )

5/5 Excellent

A brilliant place to stay
From the moment we entered The Cowshed we were amazed at the standard of accommodation. We are 4 ladies walking the Coastal Path in stages and this was far and away the best place we have ever stayed - we are very unlikely to find it's equal again. It's the first time we have ever had a boot room, together with wet room, to clean and store wet boots and coats. There are 3 different and very private seating areas outside - ideal for post walk tea and cakes, and pre dinner wine! The little touches were also much appreciated like tea, coffee, milk and a sponge cake waiting on the table when we arrived, and fire lighters with kindling and lots of logs to light the log burner. The only negative is the lane/drive leading to the property that is very narrow and has lots of pot holes, If you're looking for high class accommodation in a peaceful setting do stay here you won't be disappointed

5/5 Excellent

Perfect. The property was clean warm everything you need, welcoming spacious a delight to return to after a day exploring. Will definitely be going back and Storm and Maisie were the icing on the cake
