Lovely traditional inn in one of the most beautiful parts of England. Excellent service from nice people, surprisingly good food - top-end restaurant standard. Best feature has to be the garden with a little stream running though it. Bedrooms and bathrooms are very basic (and no A/C) but noting to grumble about.

Shhh - keep it a secret!
A lucky last-minute find. A friendly welcome from extremely professional, covid-aware, staff. Plenty of secure parking, and great food, great value too. Will be back.

Relaxing & enjoyable stay.
A really relaxing & enjoyable overnight stay in this warm, welcoming & comfortable village pub. Staff were so friendly & helped us to find beautiful local walks. The restaurant had character & the gourmet style food was of good quality and well presented with good service. Rooms were clean & had everything we needed but were a little tired in places. This said, the pub is old so not likely to be without issues. COVID precautions were strictly followed & plenty of sanitiser available everywhere. Overall we found our stay to be enjoyable & good value. Will definitely be returning & hope to enjoy the beautiful garden with the stream running through.

Very hospitable hosts. Very impressed that the bar manager opened an expensive bottle of red wine for me to sample with no obligation to buy it; and was not put out that I didn’t like it - he said he would rather I have what I preferred. The accommodation was very extremely clean and tasteful The cooked breakfast was lovely Another thing I was impressed with was the blackboard in the bar lounge, naming the local suppliers of the cheese, dairy, bread, meat etc the that use. The menu was limited, but the food on offer was absolutely without fault, and beautifully presented, very generous portions too. A very comfortable and Covid safe environment.
