Great view, far away from Golden.

Posted 19-Jul-2016
Pros: The views, and the small resort, are fantastic.
Cons: The checkin is at a nearby hotel, which adds to the confusion...
The lodge is up on the mountain, which for a summer stay doesn't make sens. We hadn't seen that, so for a nights stay in Golden in wasn't very convenient. Had we been there for enjoying the mountain, it would have been excellent.

No staff and badly run

Posted 19-Jul-2016
Right from check in it started out bad. We show up at the hotel lobby and it is dark with no staff. There is a note telling us to go to another hotel around the corner to check in. Then we go back to our empty hotel. To call front desk was a fiasco you had to call the other hotel and then enter the extension and then listen to a recorded message telling you to enter another extension. If they can't afford to run it they should shutter it. I must say the room was nice and clean no complaints about that.I have never stayed at a hotel that has not one staff member working in it.

Ski in.

Hot tub was spectacular. Kitchen.was perfect for saving cash Bit of a hike to the village bar which was not busy. Long drive to town, no.cabs means you.will.spend a lot of time in your room. Boot drier and fireplace were key.

Relaxing snowboard trip.

Relaxing, quiet - the bar & lounge are a few minutes walk away below the other 2 on hill hotels, so it was nice and quiet but still very convenient.

Outside of town, deserted in summer, Small room

Posted 31-Aug-2015
Pros: Price Ice machine in parking area (good for re-icing cooler)
Cons: I doubt they could be improved but the rooms were really small.
Location: It's at the bottom of the slope but about 15 minutes outside of town. All there is to do during summer is the lounge, the cafe, and resort sports.
We stayed for one night while driving across the country. The staff was very pleasant, but only staffed the adjacent lodge a few hundred meters down the hill. The room was small and the fan in the room was loud. The place was fairly deserted and there were maybe 10 cars there total. The cafe at the bottom of the lifts (on the back of the main building) was quite good and reasonably priced (excellent waffle)
