Great ski in/out lodge next to slopes.

Posted 17-Mar-2017
Pros: The spacious living accommodation for two of us.
Cons: Reception not manned, we had to drive back to the main lodge, which wasn't far. Had we have been informed prior we would have really appreciated that.
Location: Up on the Kicking Horse mountain, perfect ski in out. The ski village is a stones throw away, with cafe, bar, rentals, repairs, general store.
Lovely lodge with great suites. Kitchen fully equipped, bed comfortable, bathroom spacious. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at The Palliser, incredibly convenient for the slopes.

Convenient on hill location

Check in was confusing- everything I read said to check in at Glacier Lodge as there is no front desk at Palliser. We go to Glacier and they send us to Pallliser to check in! Nice rooms, big balconys, thin walls though! No fan in the bathroom which made for some awkward mornings...

Pros: Hot tub, accommodations were nice overall.
Cons: You have to check in at the Glacier Lodge, which is a bit annoying - would be great if the Palliser was staffed. Also, the beds were a bit lumpy.
Location: Ski, obvi.
We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite with the outdoor hot tub. The suite had an electric fireplace, a functional kitchen (oven, full size fridge/freezer, and basic appliances like a toaster and electric kettle), and two bathrooms (one with a bathtub). We booked it many because it was listed as ski-in, ski-out, though if that's your main priority you're better off at the Glacier Lodge, which is just behind the KHMR Gondola. To get to Palliser, you have to stay all the way to skier's right and watch for the signs - which is fine, but if you miss it it's a 10 minute walk uphill to get to the lodge. That said, it was a very pleasant place to stay for two nights, and the hot tub was definitely worth the extra $$.

Nice stay

Posted 22-Jan-2017
Pros: On the hill is the place to stay in Golden if you are skiing. Underground parking is great. Ski in ski out. Kitchen with microwave fridge sink
Cons: Boot heaters. No gear is to be taken to the rooms but there is no where in this lodge to dry your boots for the next day.
Location: Winstons is past the main ski village and is another great apres option as well as Peaks.
This hotel is up mountain a bit so you can ski in and ski out but if you stay in the bar after lifts close you need to hike back up. Maybe 10-15 minutes

Ski Lodge in the summer.

Posted 21-Sep-2016
Pros: Very quiet and peaceful.
Cons: We had some trouble finding the lodge & had to check in at a totally different lodge first.. Better signs and directions would be helpful.
Since it was a ski lodge and we stayed in the summer, it was very quiet and peaceful. It was like we were the only two staying there. The underground parking was nice to have. There were 2 restaurants close by so we didn't have to go back into town for supper. Other than having a little trouble finding The Palliser Lodge, we would highly recommend it if you are looking for a place to stay in the summer.
