Great view

Posted 15-Sep-2017
Pros: Mountain view and air.
Cons: Truth in advertising. Improved amenities like more towels, filled soap dispenser, more glasses. Regular dusting would help.
Location: Not much to do except in ski season.
Not as advertised. Nothing deluxe or suite. It was quite basic, more like a large hostel room.

The attendant was helpful when we arrived but was not available to handle problems such as old and sparse linens, broken TV, hot tub, other disappointments. The room furnishings were old and worn out. This room was not what we expected.

The room and location were great besides none of the glassware being cleaned and having to notify staff and then wait 40 minutes for the breakfast to be set up.

Lack of understanding

Posted 23-Aug-2017
Riding on motorcycle through forest fires to get there, sensitivity to smoke . Was told road had just reopenes due to visibility. Checked on room and would have kept coming if there was air conditioning but the thought of breathing smoke all the way there and then sleeping in it was too much. Tried to cancel .was told had to go through expedia, tried that and turned around to ride back out of it and got another room with ac and learned layer no refund . No understanding of circumstances

Hi, thanks for the review albeit a one sided one. making a cancellation on the day of arrival and with a 'Non refundable rate' shows a different picture to the one you give. Wildfires sadly have been burning in the BC Province for months, maybe insurance would have helped. As was mentioned to you, there were no issues in the area of smoke or fires and other motor bike riders continued with their journey.

Great location and staff

Posted 23-Aug-2017
Cons: AC would have been nice. The room did have a fan, but it was a tabletop model on the floor. Would have preferred a stand model so it was higher up.
Excellent place to stay, not a typical "hotel" but more of a family atmosphere. Would stay here again in a heart beat.

Nice lodge but needs better room cleaning

Posted 20-Aug-2017
Pros: Lovely location and rustic lodge style
Cons: Room cleanliness
The Copper Horse is a nice hotel overall but the room was far less than expected on the cleanliness front. Shower stall had lots of mold buildup and the tiled seat had a significant layer of dust. There were 2 very visible spider webs in the ceiling and lights that had been there a while. The coffee counter above the fridge was covered in dust, there was an open packet of sugar and someone's medication pill lying behind the coffee maker. Had to ask for Kleenex and the advertised robes on arrival as there were none in the room but the young man at reception quickly sorted that out for us. Pillows are in need of replacement. Dinner at Corks pub was great and the breakfast was complete, good and had great, friendly service from the one young lady on duty. More attention to cleaning and some details and this would be a really nice and different experience!

Comfortable lodge up in the mountains

Posted 17-Aug-2017
We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a summer road trip. Upon first arrival it was gorgeous from the outside and had a nice lobby, a bit of a drive from town but worth it to be out of the hustle and bustle. Had to walk to the lodge next door for reception but she was very friendly, accommodating and answered all of our questions. When we got to the room it seemed super clean, other than there was laundry laying on the floor in the closet bunched up that we did not know if it was dirty or clean. It was very hot outside our entire trip so it was disappointing not to have any air conditioning, though they do give you a fan. No plushy robes in the rooms like advertised, though we didn't ask reception for them and the hot tub that is advertised as well was way to hot to go into, I couldn't even stick my foot in. Also a bigger television in the room would've been nice, the one provided is pretty small. I would say it's overpriced for the room you get but overall a super nice lodge, very quite and clean feeling with a very good breakfast. I would like to experience this lodge in winter.

Glorious gem at the foot of the slopes

Posted 17-Aug-2017
A beautiful hotel at the foot of the slopes, 5 minutes from the lifts, with ski back routes. Great food next door. Rooms are lovely and the place is so pretty with views everywhere. There's even a resident grizzly bear.

Not Great

Posted 14-Aug-2017
One employee was split between this hotel and the sister hotel next door. He was wonderful but one person running two hotels is not efficient, obviously. We were taken to a room that was not made up and therefore moved to a different room that had been serviced. Our room hadn't been dusted in what seemed like weeks. Not sure the last time someone stayed in that room. The room backed onto the back of the hotel where the restaurant kitchen also backed onto; the kitchen staff walks out of the kitchen and the door slams every time. It was obnoxiously annoying. It was a very expensive stay for a not very valuable experience.
