Arrived on the afternoon of Thursday 7th February, on check-in was asked for payment, although already paid for. Was given our key and went to our room. Next morning we were woken by housekeeping and said we'd be half an hour. Went out for the day at 1030am and returned at approximately 7pm to find our room unserviced. Had to go back to reception to complain, as no telephone in room, was told no housekeeping to service room and we were given another room. The room was fine and we had a comfortable nights sleep. Again we were woken by housekeeping in the morning, approximately 10am, wanting to service the room, considering that we were a depart on the Saturday morning. Went to checkout and handed in our key, no good morning and we were never asked our name, room number, did we enjoy our stay, would we like to have breakfast. This was after having to wait for someone to come to the unattended desk.
The hotel didn't appear to be busy, all rooms are on the second floor with no lift, not disabled friendly. Both evenings the restaurant was extremely quiet and breakfast wasn't busy either. Overall a very disappointing stay in what could be a very good hotel if more attention was paid to guests and a more professional attitude would benefit the business. There didn't appear to be any structure as far as management and staffing are concerned.
Shame really, it could be a very good business if run better.
