A spacious family room with a flat screen television with DVD player, two bedrooms each with a queen beds, and one full bath make this cabin a perfect getaway for up to four guests. There is a fully equipped kitchen including microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven, and dishwasher. The cabin has both central heating and air conditioning for multi-season rental opportunities. An outdoor stone fireplace with a picnic table are located near the driveway in back of the cabin. River access is made by a long gradual walk along the ridge down to the river’s edge. There is a new gravel pathway to the river for easy access for swimming and fishing. There is no dock at the riverside. Your home away from home – The perfect retreat! • Minimum two night stay • Minimum three night requirement for following holiday weekends: Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years • Week rentals can not be Saturday to Saturday • Check-in: Anytime after 3 pm Check-out – By 11 am Based upon availability, early and/or late check out can be arranged. • WiFi is available through DSL service • Firewood provided from Sept 1 to April 1 for one fire per night • DOG FRIENDLY ONLY- $75.00/dog/stay. Riverview cabin is located on a gated private gravel driveway which is 7 miles from Front Royal, VA. The cabin is three miles from the Shenandoah State Park and five miles from the northern entrance of the Skyline Drive of the Shenandoah National Park. Not to nitpick but there was only one roll of paper towels provided which ran out quickly due to required use to clean up gear due to no outside water. There were only two trash bags provided. No soap or shampoo in the shower. A small investment in these items would go a long way imho. Overall, we were satisfied with the stay. I will not post this online. It was a little weird that it had a Keurig but no K-cups, but all in all this is a comfortable, secluded, and--if you like a rustic environment, which we do--a very romantic cabin. It was a very private secluded area. We enjoyed the wildlife and sounds of the birds as we drank our morning coffee/tea. The driveway entrance was a little tricky getting in and out of and we were thankful that we did not encounter anyone else on the private lane from the 2 other cabins there. Cabin was stocked with essentials. I would say that it was a bit dusty here and there but that is life in the woods. You could see glimpses of the river from the porch. Also, there is some road noise but minimal. There is also a train that goes by the cabin from time to time and it can be very loud, but we had no issues with it at night. Overall, great location. We enjoyed watching movies (our own and via streaming apps) and sitting by the cozy fireplace. Cabin is well insulated. John was very responsive when we had a question. It has a nice rustic feel, is very comfortable and very nicely located. It is secluded and has a nice open area and welcoming feel. R stone wood burning fireplace give a real sense of nostalgia and is a really excellent smenity. The cabin is just outside of the town of Front Royal, with easy access to national and state parks. We really enjoyed our stay. ##### Marc I. Couldn't see the river too well from the cabin; maybe the view is better in the Fall. The main issue I had was the sheets had a musty smell. Also, for as much as the instructions say to leave the place clean, the dishes did not appear to be cleaned very well by the previous visitors. I also think some of the pots and pans are due to be replaced. That being said, I appreciated the quiet location and the rustic feel of the place. A nice place to put my feet up after a day hiking in Shenandoah. ##### Amanda D. It is rustic but clean with up to date amenities. We especially appreciated the remote feel of the property while still being close to town. I removed 1 star for cleanliness because we had to clean the fireplace before using and we felt the coffee maker needed cleaning before we would use it. A quick run to town for vinegar allowed us to easily clean it up. Also, kitchen plates, utensils and flatware were fine but the commonly used pans were not. All in all, highly recommended if you like rustic feel with privacy in the woods. ##### Wayne L. Finding the lodge was easy even at night and the directions provided were on point. Due to a check-in date mix up the owner offered an extra night to us at no extra cost. The conversation with the owner was very friendly and I really appreciate the friendliness. What made the stay (including the extra day) worth it was the coziness of the lodge, the amenities (centralized cooling a big plus), the closeness to the valley, caverns and outdoor activities. We went kayak (which was not originally in the plans) only because we saw the place while driving to the lodge. Found some really good eating spots just a few mins drive which in my opinion is a big plus. ##### Jeremiah T.
