The best area to stay in Frigiliana is the historic Old Town, known locally as the Casco Antiguo. This area is the heart of Frigiliana, characterised by its whitewashed houses, narrow cobbled streets, and colourful flower pots. It's built on a hillside, so expect some inclines and steps, but the views across the valley and down to the sea are spectacular. The main street, Calle Real, runs through the centre, with many of the village's shops and restaurants branching off it.Couples often find the Old Town superb for a romantic getaway. The quiet, winding streets are lovely for evening strolls, and there are many intimate restaurants offering local cuisine. You're also close to historical sites like the Palacio de los Condes de Frigiliana (El Ingenio) and the Church of San Antonio. For those travelling with family and looking for a bit more space, staying just outside the immediate centre, but still within easy walking distance, can be a great option. These areas often have properties with small gardens or terraces, providing a relaxing base after exploring the village.
