Disappointed

Posted 24-May-2017
This hotel was in a great location steps away from the Duomo and near lots of great restaurants. The staff was okay but didn't really engage with clients. Rooms were clean but very hot and the room temperature control didn't work, nor did the tv. On our last day, The water cut in and out which made flushing a problem and the lights went out once.

Excellent location !!

My only problem was the size of the shower! Very small ! If you are on the larger size request a room with a bigger shower, my husband is not big but really struggled.

Unfortunately, my stay at Benivieni was below my expectation. My bed slats in the middle fell during my stay, so I asked to change the bed next day. And the slats fell apart again in next day. I guess the bed wasn't changed into other one, so I ended up squeezing into other bed. The towels have a weird smell (like vinegar ?). I saw dusts under the table and the bathroom as I first checked-in to the room. The shower booth is quite interesting. No matter how you try to secure not to have flood outside of the shower booth, you will end up having wet floor. The location of hotel was very central and the staffs were helpful, though..

Great location, quiet street close to everything.

Pros: Character, staff, room, location - all great.
Location: Duomo, Baptistry, shops, restaurants - just about everything!
This was a great place to stay and the staff was fantastic. Lovely little family owned hotel on a quiet street but close to everything - restaurants, shops, sites, etc. I will definitely be staying here again.

Aggressive, Inappropriate Staff and a Loud Room

Posted 17-Oct-2016
Pros: Location was central and the room was clean.
Cons: The staff needs to be trained on how to treat customers, the first floor room should not be a guest room, and the "free Wifi" should work.
Location: Walking distance to everything!
Walking into the hotel, I greeted the older gentleman working behind the desk and he tersely responded, "telling me you have a reservation doesn't mean anything unless you give me your last name!" I then endured fifteen demeaning minutes completing the check-in with him. The next morning, I responded to Expedia's questionnaire about my check-in, and received a hostile email from the hotel that essentially said I was lying and that I should be lucky to have such a nice room. Then, the next morning, a woman who worked there as well (who had been friendly), called me over and started yelling about my review. She started with: “how can you walk by me every time and smile and say hello and then write this review?!” I eventually reasoned with her that my review was not an attack on her, but was a sharing of my opinions. It took 30 minutes, going point by point over my review, for her to actually concede that my comments were honest and real issues. Also, our room, on the first floor, was wedged between the dining room, front desk, and an alley. I asked for a different room and we were told the only noise we would hear was church bells. We heard voices all night from the front desk, trash bins in the alley being emptied between 1 AM and 3 AM, and around 5 AM clattering from the dining room. Even earplugs didn't drown out these noises. No amenities, and the Wifi, when it does work, logs you off every three minutes.
