The Barton Cross Hotel is such a welcoming establishment. It is far from modern, with the bathroom suites and fixtures and fittings somewhat dated. So if you are looking for something more corporate and minimalist and do not like quaint, this might not be the place for you. The rooms are clean and comfortable though and had everything I required. Coffee and tea making facilities and a chocolate biscuit. There was also a mini bar in the room. The bathroom, as mentioned, was dated in decor but had everything you would need, toiletries and a selection of towels. Breakfast was to order and was great. The location was ideal for me. It is a short drive from Exeter but very handy for the town and the university. It is in a small village in the countryside. Very quiet. It's a great place to unwind. The staff are friendly and helpful. Everything is just a bit slower and less hectic. A great place to relax.
