Dirty, mouse infested.
Not happy at all

1/5 Terrible

There were mice and their poop all over house. Whatever food we brought for four days they went into the food so we had to throw it all away. We had to rebuy food everyday and everyday we found mice in the food and had to throw it away. We have photos. A master bedroom had a very repugnant smell so we could not use it. We were wrongfully told from the lodge supervisor/manager that because of previous fires in Yosemite the main lines don't work. We had no connection for four days - the main line did not work until we left when someone rented next door it turned on and all of a sudden began to work. There is no wifi, no internet connection, no ability to use a personal hot spot, and no service either. We had to drive over 30 miles to make a call. Also no one from vrbo nor a manager posted that we need permits to see such things like Yosemite National park, which was the reason we even booked this house and drove out here. Permits were not available for months. A lodge supervisor/manager told us we would get reimbursement for all the inconvenience, but we have not received any reimbursement. It's wrong to mislead people with online postings and in person. Especially since we had sick people with us who might need hospital attention at any sudden moment, this was completely irresponsible and careless.

Mice in the house and skunks underneath
Our stay in El Portal was saved by a quick move to a 3 bedroom apartment at the Cedar Lodge. I am grateful to the manager for arranging it immediately. When we arrived at the property it looked clean, but there a definite skunk musk order that was particularly strong in the master bedroom. However there was plenty of beds for everybody so I decided to see if it would dissipate. My husband and I were waiting in the living room for our other family members to come when a mouse scurried across the floor from underneath my couch to the couch across the room. We flipped open the couch bed and there were mouse dropping on the sheets. I called Cedar Lodge and got the 3 bedroom apt up the street.

The property has really bad smell, and dark. 1. Down stair master bedroom heater and ac is not working. 2. Down stair bathroom, show door cannot close. It was so cold when we're taking shower. 3. When we turned on up stair heater a little bit higher, the bed bugs came out, and all of us and kids got bit. 4. The carpet is really dirty and smelly. 5. The day before check in, we called in to get check in n out instruction, the helpers in property manager office were so mean and not friendly. They were keeping saying we called the wrong number, and they could not help us.

4/5 Good

Great location and comfort
Smooth check in process and overall healthy condition of the property. Could use some uplifting given the size of the home and premium charges. Overall great place for some quiet time with a large family. Carpets could be replaced with tile given the 2 indoor jacuzzis within the rooms. Awesome location for being one with nature. Bring your own digital content although there’s plenty of books to pass the time.
