427 - Salmond Place Apartment

This bijou ground floor colonies apartment is situated to the north
east of Holyrood Park and is a short walk to Holyrood Palace and the
bottom of the Royal Mile. The local area offers a range of cafes, bars,
shops and restaurants in both London Road and Easter Road and is close
to the Meadowbank Retail Park which has a Sainsbury's supermarket. Good
bus links pass from close by the apartment to all parts of the city.
The apartment sleeps 2 people. Rooms radiate off the entrance hallway.
A good sized sitting/living kitchen area is a pleasant spot in which to
relax. The sitting area has a sofa-bed (for flexibility of sleeping
arrangements) and armchair grouped round a TV. Wi-Fi has been provided
for the use of guests. The dining area has a small glass table with
seating for 3 people and overlooks a small private patio area to the
front of the building. The kitchen corner offers a gas oven and hob,
storage units, a Belfast sink, toaster, kettle and microwave and plenty
of crockery and cutlery for those wishing to cook at home. A
comfortable double bedroom has shelves on either side of the bed and
has the benefit of a wall mounted TV. A mirrored wardrobe offers plenty
of storage space. The tiled bathroom has a bath with drencher shower
over, wash hand basin and WC A utility cupboard off the hallway houses
a washing machine, iron and ironing board. we are happy to welcome 1
well behaved dog for a charge of £35 per stay. You can add your pet to

We do not meet our guests at their apartments, we ask them to contact us in advance of their stay with their arrival time and we arrange to leave keys in a convenient key safe. We sure that guests have a 24 hour emergency number in case of any problems during their stay.

Dog friendly apartment
Really enjoyed this apartment. Easy to get a bus from Abbeyhill. Lots of places to eat and get takeaways. A stones throw from the meadowbank shopping centre. Patio area which was great for the dog, but the only thing i would say about the patio is the gate is easy for a small /medium dog to get out. It would be easily rectified with some netting fixed over it. The lighting in the flat was a bit dark and the water pressure is not great but that is the same in many Edinburgh flats that i have stayed in. I would go there again. So all in all nplaceplacstay.

Wonderful well located flat in Edinburgh!
This was a wonderful flat for me and my friend to stay in. The decor is beautiful & the flat is well appointed with everything you could need. The host was very communicative and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. There is a bus stop right nearby which made getting around very easy. It was also well located to walking to many places we wanted to visit. The place wasn’t cozy, the linens were very nice, particularly enjoyed the fluffy towels. The bathroom was great for me and my friend as well, I like to shower, she prefers baths and we both had our needs well met. I would definitely stay there again!

Decent and clean flat to spend your nights and mornings
The flat itself is clean and small but it has everything you could need! It is a bit of a walk to the old town (20-30 mins downhill then uphill) but we didn't mind that as much as we are used to walking. The street is quiet and the building feels safe. The bus stop right outside the flat is also very convenient!

Edinburgh in August/September.
Property is fantastic spotless with new fixtures and fittings and fully equipped kitchen so I only eat out when I wanted to. Very quiet residential area about 20 minutes walk from centre of town. Very large supermarket about 5 minutes walk away which covers all your needs. I will be definitely be rebooking this property, if available, rather than use hotels. Completely perfect stay many thanks.

Just as described
My son and I stayed here and loved it! It had everything we needed- including drying rack for clothes and blow dryer. The only negative, and it’s not the owner’s fault, is the noise. Every time someone closes the door to the outside of the building, you can hear and feel it. And there was a particularly vocal seagull outside my window every morning at 6am. But that’s just part of the city charm. I’d stay here again.

Quiet, older area within walking distance to old and new town
This was a very nice location. Both the old town and the new town were within walking distance. If you are unable to or do not like walking, there is a bus stop immediately in front of the property. The kitchen is well stocked if you wish to make meals and there is a larger grocer just around the corner. If you are eating out, the Red Kite Cafe was just across the street and exquisite! Only two concerns with the property. One, the shower did not drain properly so showers were short and did not want to wash hair. Second, the locks were a bit glitchy. The one day we were unable to catch to second lock. All in all, however, we’d rent there again. If you do rent here, check out the quaint courtyard in the back!

Lovely stay
We were quite happy with the apartment and where it’s located - close enough to central Edinburgh, yet quietly residential. Moreover, it’s well connected by public transport. One little improvement the flat could do with: A few hooks for hanging up stuff (coats etc and towels in the bathroom).
