A lovely experience

We enjoyed our stay here during our short break in Brighton. The guest house is well modernised in its look and we'll looked after. The staff here were so friendly and very willing to help. The room although small (which we knew beforehand) was well presented and we enjoyed the little touches such as the marshmallows for hot chocolate, the bottled water etc. Our only two criticisms of our stay were: 1. the room got too hot. 2. the view from our window - a concrete jungle look along with pigeons and their previously digested meals. Going back to the positives, breakfast was a real highlight for us. There is a great choice of cooked dishes from the traditional English, to pancakes and bacon, to a chefs special, to porridge. The quality of the food was fantastic with the guest house boasting that they use local ingredients which showed. There was a lovely young waitress who was only too happy to look after us during breakfast bringing us teas, coffees and serving us our food. We were very pleased with our stay overall and would definitely stay again if ever back in the area.

Keep Town house

Kemp Town House is in a great location and the breakfast is super. Although the hotel rooms look great online, ours was a little battered and tatty and in need of freshening up.

You had our best room which was also recently refreshed. We usually have excellent comments about our four poster room but perhaps it is not to you taste or preference. I'm sorry you feel this way however and I hope you'd give us a try again in the future.

This is a nice quaint bed and breakfast.

Pros: Clean, quite, and excellent staff
Cons: For a bed and breakfast, there's nothing that needs to be done. But for a five-star hotel, a lot needs to be considered.
Location: By the sea and close to city center.
Not sure how Expedia does the star rating. This facility is given a 5-star. However, if you consider that it lacks basic 5-star amenities, like an elevator, safety deposit boxes, and a lobby, you will soon realise that there is a basic default in rating. I paid for three nights, but spent only one. I was mislead by Expedia rating.

Dear Farid, Thank you for your review. We are indeed a 5 star boutique guest house and not a 5-star hotel. This is as we are advertised and I am sorry if you felt misled. We do emphasise we are in a grade ii listed building in the heart of Kemptown and offer 5 star accommodation. Our amenities as listed on Expedia does not include an elevator or pool as you would find with a 5-star hotel. Romantic hotel with breakfast in bed

Pros: Breakfast in bed, large room, super-king size bed
We had very friendly, helpful staff at the Kemp Townhouse. We stayed in their feature room with four-poster bed and in-room bath. The room was extremely clean and the toiletries were excellent. The breakfast in bed was fantastic.

A B & B in Kemptown close to the front

Pros: Size of bed (King size).
Cons: Given the constraints of the building and the apparent ambitions of the owners the desirable improvements, bigger shower rooms, would be impossible
Location: There are bars and restaurants quite close by. The main attractions of Brighton are a short taxi ride or 10-15 minute walk away
Kemp Townhouse is 10 plus minutes walk from the centre of Brighton. Our room claimed a sea view but only if you looked out of the side window down the street. Cost of room high. Decent size bed, tiny shower room. Staff helpful but inexperienced. As a B & B it is quite acceptable but it promises more and charges more than is justified.

Advertised as a 5 star hotel??

Pros: It must be said that the breakfast room was well kept and the food good.
Cons: EVERYTHING!
Location: Brighton Beach, etc.
This hotel was a 2 at best. The rooms were old, run down and tiny with peeling paint and a bathroom the size of a closet. No way worth the $100 plus a night! Beyond the construction noise, we did see an effort to renovate. The place still has a long way to go to substantiate its cost and rating.

Great place to stay, would defiantly go back. Staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful the rooms were clean and tidy. Would recommend this place to stay.
