Nice hotel. Our room wasn't cleaned extremely well. A few things on the floor stuck to my feet when we arrived and hairs in the bathroom. Close to station and overall was a nice stay. Pool facilities were great!
We had a very relaxing stay at Ramside hall after a full on 60th birthday. We had spa treatments and took full advantage of the first class spa facilities. We dined in the Asian fusion restaurant and had a delicious breakfast one morning. All the staff were helpful and friendly but still professional. ...
From hotel a pedestrian bridge over the river Wear connects with the historic city centre. World Heritage site excellent. Wide range of good restaurants. This hotel is an excellent place to visit central Durham.
We booked a delux room. The room had a spa bath and shower which was perfect and the facilities were excellent. The only thing we missed out on we're the spa robes. We found the small card explaining they were located in the spa when we were about to go to bed. The menu was a little too master chef ...
A well appointed hotel set in beautiful surroundings. Room was spacious and spotless. Rates were on point. Only comment was the slightly dowdy decor in the bar area which could do with renovation. Bar seating in the window areas was old and and slightly oderous. Overall I would return without ...
Ask any guest what makes a great hotel and they'll give you a different answer. Business travellers will, naturally enough, demand corporate-friendly amenities, business centres, meeting rooms and decent WiFi, whereas family or group holidaymakers will look for child-friendly restaurants and maybe somewhere to relax, like a sauna or fitness centre. Many travellers, whether they are travelling on business or for pleasure, will look for hotels with a swimming pool - somewhere to cool off after a long day conferencing or dragging the kids around Durham's historic landmarks!
From indoor pools to outdoor pools, to heated pools and plunge pools, a hotel pool will be as unique as the hotel itself. Just because the United Kingdom may not be an exotic clime, doesn't mean its hotels don't often incorporate swimming pools, which are a feature many guests view as a desirable extra. Guests like swimming pools for a number of reasons, they're a great place in which to relax and they're also a common feature of health and leisure hotels, such as the Hotel Bannatyne Durham, a three-star hotel that enjoys a convenient location in easy reach of Durham's top attractions, such as the Gala Theatre Durham and Durham Castle.
As well as being a common feature in fitness and leisure hotels, it's also common to find swimming pools in boutique or luxury establishments. The magnificent five-star Seaham Hall boasts two indoor pools, as well as a wide range of other high-end services and amenities, such as a spa and fitness centre, two restaurants and concierge services. If you're looking for a historic or period property that benefits from a swimming pool, County Durham has several fine examples, such as Best Western Parkmore Hotel & Leisure Club, a beautiful converted Victorian property located in Stockton-on-Tees. If you're heading to Middlesbrough, either for a holiday or a business trip, and are looking with accommodation that has a swimming pool, you might consider staying at the four-star Jury's Inn Middlesborough, well placed for all of the city's top attractions.
