"Nice hotel great location"
Great hotel and nice location on the Tyne. A bit shabby in places I think the hotel is in need of a bit of modernisation and TLC. The staff were friendly. Buffet breakfast average but ok.

"Spectacular river side location"
Arriving at Newcastle Airport a short Metro ride to City Centre and a short pleasant walk to Hotel. The Hotel is very welcoming, and very central with spectacular views and access to the landmark bridges on the river Tyne. The food and drink at the hotel was excellent, although there are many restaurants and bars within walking distance. The City Centre has many attractions, including river boat trips, all 'do-able" from the hotel. An evening dining at the famous Stowell Street (Newcastles China Town) and a day trip to the coast at Tynemouth a twenty minute metro ride away made a fabulous weekend break.

"would stay again"
very clean, well presented nice room, good hot shower, huge flat screen with various freeview channels, comfy bed and pillows which is a priority for me as I have to have a good nights kip or I growl too much the next day. downside - very petty but the floor boards creaked where ever you walked and it irritated me. Its not double glazed, well not the room I was in which was on the front. Wasnt a problem for me as I always take earplugs as have experienced noisy hotels, maybe I should have put them in earlier and the floor boards wouldn't have bothered me so much. The daft thing - no plug socket near the kettle so I had two options. The socket on the floor near the mirror or the socket under the desk. The latter being the logical choice but oh no as the lead wasn't long enough to put it on the desk. Ever the health and safety conscious individual that I have been trained to become. I put it under the desk equalling in no trip hazard. There a loads of bars and restaurants along Osbourne Road but I can highly recommend Nino's on Holly Avenue West. Excellent food at a reasonable price with healthy options available.

"Not far off motorway"
We stayed in a family room which was huge, plenty big enough for the three of us. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The self service buffet breakfast was tasty with a good choice to suit everyone. Free use of the pool, sauna and steam room was a bonus. The only downside we found was the spa. We booked this hotel mainly because it had a spa and we wanted to book several treatments. We tried calling several times during the week before our stay and were promised call backs within 10 mins which we never got until a day later and even then they couldn't give us an answer or let us book anything and yet again promised to call back but never did. For a hotel that advertises itself as a spa we felt very let down by this but to be fair the hotel accommodation itself could not faulted.

Pocket Guide: Wedding Hotels in Newcastle-upon-Tyne

Whether you've been engaged for a while or you've just said yes, if you're planning your big day, there is a great choice of wedding hotels in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Whether you imagine your wedding day to be a grand event with hundreds of guests or a small, intimate affair with immediate family and close friends, there's a hotel to suit your perfect special day.

Things to Consider When Choosing a Wedding Hotel in Newcastle

The first thing to consider - although it may seem obvious - is where you want to get married and in what kind of style. Do you prefer city weddings in chic surroundings, countryside weddings in grand houses, or seaside weddings on the rugged coast? Newcastle-upon-Tyne and the surrounding area can cater for all of these wedding styles, giving you a lot to choose from.

Another consideration is your guests and where they will stay - at least any who don't live locally. It's most likely that many will be travelling from other parts of the country and so may need a room for the night of the wedding and maybe the night before. You will either need to get married in a hotel with enough rooms for all guests or you would need to advise those invited of other hotels close by.

What You Can Expect from a Newcastle-Upon-Tyne Wedding Hotel

A lot of wedding hotels are licensed so that your wedding ceremony can be held there, so you can consider having your entire day in one place, which may make things very convenient for you and your guests. Alternatively, you can just have your reception in the hotel.

Many of the wedding hotels in Newcastle-upon-Tyne employ experienced wedding planners to assist you with organising the big day - everything from reception drinks to entertainment.

Planning your dream wedding can seem daunting, but finding the perfect wedding hotel in Newcastle-upon-Tyne certainly isn't! From here, you'll have everything you need to make it the most special day of your lives together.
