Jurys Inn Newcastle Gateshead Quays£54
Jurys Inn Newcastle Gateshead Quays£54I loved this hotel. I was in Newcastle to see a musical. I stayed at the hotel 3 nights. The hotel is extremely clean. Staybridge Suites Newcastle£58
Staybridge Suites Newcastle£58Whether for business or pleasure, travellers are increasingly concerned about the impact their journeys are having on the environment; whether that's the carbon footprint their car leaves, or the energy consumption of their selected accommodation. One way to ensure your trip is kinder to the environment is to choose a green, sustainable hotel in Newcastle-upon-Tyne when booking your journey to the North East.
Sustainable hotels in Newcastle-upon-Tyne are awarded that title because they have worked hard to obtain outstanding green credentials. This usually means they have been awarded a certificate by Green Tourism and can cover a range of practices within the hotels themselves. This can include only using produce from ethical and sustainable sources, keeping energy consumption levels to an absolute minimum without compromising the comfort of guests. This is done by using renewable energy sources such as solar energy, and recycling as much waste as possible.
If you're concerned that the practices used by green hotels in Newcastle will impact on your stay, don't worry - your comfort is always paramount. For example, some hotels use energy efficient laundry practices by not washing towels every single day. However, guests can ask them to launder towels more often if they feel they need it. Double and triple glazed windows and thermostatic controls on radiators will conserve energy, helping to make your room that bit more comfortable. This gives you the best of both worlds as a guest - a guilt-free stay in fabulous accommodation!
Your green hotel in Newcastle is the ideal base for exploring the city. If you're looking for days out to explore the heritage of the city, book a tour of Victoria Tunnel, a 19th-century wagon way preserved under the city.
Or, if you fancy something a little more romantic, a trip to Jesmond Dene Park will go down well. With its exotic trees, picturesque waterfall and adorable wildlife, it's an idyllic setting for a stroll with a loved one and a wonderful day out for nature lovers, just a stone's throw from your sustainable hotel.
