The red haired lady who was on the front desk was very abrupt and confrontational when we interacted with her on check in/out. On check in, she advised she had no rooms as no one had checked out and every room had been booked. On check out, I asked that she validate our parking tickets, as instructed on your website. Her response was “we don’t validate tickets here”. She gave us a coupon which gave us a £2 discount on the £12 daily/overnight rate. Your website states the daily/overnight rate is £8 for guests at the Times Square car park. We had asked for quiet room and we were given a room next to the Redhuth bridge. We mentioned this to the lady upon check out and she said “there are no quiet rooms in this building”. Not impressed.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
We booked double room but bed was three-quarter. Very noisy hotel. Stayed on queue to check in for more than 45 minutes. For the price we paid for 2 nights was very expensive.

This was out third time staying in this hotel. We have loved it every time. The staff are amazing and super friendly and will solve any issue you have in a heart beat. The only thing I could fault was the room we had this time. There seemed to be a lack of ventilation which caused the room to get super dusty super quick. We didn't mention this to the staff altough we should have and they would have done something for us.

4/5 Good

Liked: Staff & service, amenities
The staff (reception, Bar/ restaurant, security, housekeeping) were very friendly and helpful. The lobby and bar are are comfortable and clean. The rooms are a little on the tired side with holes worn in carpets, and cold bathroom without much control over the shower flow vs heat. There was someone’s old beer bottle left wedged under the bedside table (did make me wonder how the sheets had been changed without seeing it). The bed was very comfortable though. The sound proofing could do with some work as I could hear every word of the stag party neighbours - and even worse when they arrived back after the nights drinking. Staff were good about asking them to keep a bit quieter the next night though (hotel was too full for any room moves). Great central location, minutes walking to the central rail, the town centre and pretty close to the river
