Lovely hotel with great service

Everything about the hotel was wonderful from the attentive staff, comfy beds, and good reasonably priced food. The breakfast was excellent and well worth €15 I will definitely be returning to this hotel when I visit Ireland again.

Historic hotel just off east pier

Close to dart staff was top notch. This is an older hotel a little off the beaten track. Close to some shopping.

Overall experience was great. The hotel is a bit dated, however the staff more than make up for the style of the hotel. We were accommodated and made welcome from beginning to end of our stay.

Expected more ...

Posted 24-Mar-2016
Pros: Location...
Cons: Improve the quality of the sofa bed
Location: Near the beach
Travelled with my 2 adult daughters from Australia The hotel looked great from the pictures and I was probably expecting too much. The room we stayed in was clean and we have probably been spoilt by the other hotels we stayed in but I expected a more comfortable sofa bed or second bed. We had pretty noisy neighbours who were partying late into the night.

Luxury Service & Comfort Paired w/ Incredible View

Posted 21-Mar-2016
Pros: Everything about the hotel was wonderful, including the price (we visited in March, the off-season)
Cons: I wouldn't change a thing. Other than our wedding venue (Wineport Lodge in Athlone), this was the best hotel we stayed at during our 11-day visit.
Location: sansanaSPA, Irish National Sailing School, East Pier, Teddy’s Ice Cream, rent bikes/kayaks/segways, National Maritime Museum, Pavilion Theatre, etc.
My wife and I stayed here our first night in Ireland. Our only regret is that we only stayed the one night. The room was delightful and very comfy. We had a king-sized bed and a splendid view of Dun Laoghaire Harbour. We awoke the next morning to an incredible sunrise (see photo). The full breakfast was well worth the price and it filled us up for most of the day as we headed west into the country. There is a dedicated parking garage, which is fully validated. Very convenient. And we also enjoyed a late dinner at Hardy's Bar after checking in. The food and service were both great (treat yourself to the house club sandwich). My wife and I agree that we will definitely be coming back to stay at Royal Marine again (and we'll be sure to request a room with a view again). There is a lot nearby the hotel too that we want to explore, including walking about the harbour and visiting the National Maritime Museum. And the fact that the hotel has been host to the likes of Charlie Chaplin, [Stan] Laurel & [Oliver] Hardy (for whom Hardy's Bar is named), and Ol' Blue Eyes himself, Frank Sinatra, is an added bonus.

Big Marine hotel on the coast.

Pros: Big rooms , big public spaces so great if you're in a gang for say a Rugby International. Very close to DART station- 20 mins to Dublin - same by cab
Cons: Loike a lot of big seaside hotels slightly faded elegance - aren't they all and breakfast needs a makeover
