Pleasant Location

Posted 15-Aug-2015
Pros: The location.
Due to unforeseen circumstances we arrived much later than expected but were greeted by a welcoming, friendly receptionist. We asked if there was any possibility of having something to eat and we were offered a selection of hot or cold sandwiches as the restaurant facilities were closed. The order was taken quickly and our food arrived in our room promptly. This was very much appreciated and were presented beautifully with additional accompaniments. Although our room was a little dated and dark we did have a good night's sleep. Unfortunately in the morning we awoke to having no power in our room which prevented us from using the tea making facilities. This was addressed promptly after making a call to reception. All in all a comfortable stay in a wonderful location.

Hotel was nice but the twin room they put us in was facing another building so 6 feet out we had a wall, no view and no air.... we requested to move rooms and we were accommodated.

Beautiful hotel, great period features

Posted 10-Aug-2015
Hotel is beautiful, some stunning period features and plenty of character. Rooms were adequate but would benefit from a refurb to bring them up to UK standard. Service at breakfast was shocking, stayed 4 nights and every occasion it took several requests for hot drinks & toast - despite several complaints, sadly the service never improved

The Grand Hotel is a great place to relax.

Posted 02-Aug-2015
Pros: The ambience, the setting & the staff.
Cons: The TVs in some rooms should be replaced.
Location: Malahide is a lovely village with so many great places to eat. Make sure to visit Malahide Castle and the Avoca Cafe there.
The Grand Hotel in Malahide has a character all of its own, fusing its original interior with a modern extension which allows it to maintain its charm. We have been coming here for years and we really enjoy the setting. We went recently for our 40th wedding anniversary and were treated very well with a personalised card and chocolates left in our room. The only negative aspect was the TV in the room which was rather ancient and only picked up a limited number of channels - no UTV which was disappointing for my wife who wanted to watch some of the 'soaps' after dinner before we headed off for a walk. Malahide is a beautiful little village and The Grand is an hotel which enriches the quality of life in that village - make sure you go and visit.

Looks to have been recently updated

Posted 30-Jun-2015
Pros: Location and View. Staff was very friendly and Helpful
Location: There is a castle and park within walking distance, and the town has a lot of shops and Pubs.
This was an older Hotel that has been updated, It Looks really nice and had a wonderful view of the Harbor. The Room was small but comfortable. We did not dine there, but the dining room looked really nice. The Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay on a return visit. It is about 15 minutes to the Airport.

For the most part nice hotel.

The hotel was over priced for what i got. I must have paid for the view of the bay. The bed what uncomfortable and the room was fairly small.
