Lovely hotel, very good locaion, the staff were all freindly.the breakfast was Ok. The bed was comfy the bathroom lovely. My only complaint was the unit that housed the TV,fridge and safe had a pull out table (the only surface in the room) which had to be pushed in to switch off the light, consequently each night you had to put bits and peices onto a chair, likewise when acssessing the fridge and TV. Small thing but very annoying.
The hotel staff welcomed us with a glass of Presecco and warm attention to every question. They worked diligently to help us resolve a train reservation issue, and recommended fabulous restaurants in the local area. The location is in walking distance of the train station which was very helpful. The water taxi to St. Marks and the central region was approx 30 minutes and walking was about 15 minutes. Thus the location is not in the center of Venice but relatively easy to access. The nightly happy hour was a pleasant way to end a day of touring.
This is one of the cleanest hotels we've ever stayed in. The staff was courteous and helpful and even got us a free taxi ride to Murano to tour the glass factories. The hotel has canal access and the taxi pulls us right outside the front door. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and varied. The location was within walking distance of most of the sights including San Marcos, Peggy Guggenheim collection, the Rialto Bridge and many more. The only negative of our stay here was the view (or lack thereof) from our room. It looked out at the next building and was probably within two feet of it in spots...looking at a blank wall or someone's laundry hanging on a line left much to be desired when thinking of were we were!
Fantastic location with a stunning view of the grand canal and a charming terrace by the water. Our room was comfortable however not in great decorative order however this certainly didn't spoil our stay.

Only stayed for 2 nights but would have been happy to stay many more. Nice location on small busy canal with real Venice life happing on it. Convenient location for all main attractions but far enough to be able to eat and drink out at a reasonable price.
Good location, easy to reach by water bus (dropped off at Accademia bridge using the alilaguna orange line). Nice and close to Salute vaporetto stop. Restaurant offers a 30% discount to room guests which makes eating much more affordable. Excellent breakfast with croissants, fruit, yogurt and cappucino/espresso maker. Staff is cordial and willing to help with travel plans. View from room was a garden view. Views of a canal were a little more money. Our room was in a separate entrance from the lobby but was very close. Small room but clean. Several stairs on narrow staircase to get to room (for those with mobility issues). Expensive rooms in comparison to what you would get in Canada, but for Venice a good deal!

Boasting a picturesque location in Venice, in the Dorsoduro area , the Messner Hotel offers visitors comfortable …More
This place isn't cheap but the luxury is second to none. We chose our own breakfast each night and had it delivered to our room at a time of our choice. Just superb service. The location is also perfect and just a short easy walk to the main square.
Dorsoduro is home to the great art institutions of the Gallerie dell'Accademia and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, and the landmark church of Santa Maria della Salute. However those who take the time to explore the area, and particularly the eastern section, will find some of Venice’s most picturesque squares and alleys. The area also benefits from the influence of the university with some lively bars and nightlife (rare in Venice).
