Lovely hotel, very good locaion, the staff were all freindly.the breakfast was Ok. The bed was comfy the bathroom lovely. My only complaint was the unit that housed the TV,fridge and safe had a pull out table (the only surface in the room) which had to be pushed in to switch off the light, consequently each night you had to put bits and peices onto a chair, likewise when acssessing the fridge and TV. Small thing but very annoying.
"Great hotel on the Grand Canal. Get a water view1"
Courtyard rooms overpriced, but spend the extra on the canal view rooms and they are much larger, as well as better fitout and of course, a MUCH better view. Straight onto the Grand Canal of Venice. Fantastic. Staff were great. Breakfast was "ok". Room service pretty expensive (25% surcharge) and no tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms. Our two cappucino's delivered to our room were EUR 15.00 (approx $23aud.) Still worth the money, when compared to my wife without coffee first thing in the morning. Great location, near Peggy Guggenheim Museum, but quite a walk from St Marks or Rialto. Beautiful lobby. Cost EUR 97.00 (approx aud $150) for two rounds of four fairly normal drinks. Expensive, but you don't get much in Venice without paying a fortune!!

Overlooking the Grand Canal and St Mark's Square, the Centurion Palace is an elegant Venice 5 star hotel right next to the …More
On the last day we store our luggage with the hotel so that we could maximize the time and explore the Island. Unintentionally, I left all of my jewelry, including my wedding ring and my iPad unsecured in the outside zipper pocket of her suitcase. It was not until many hours later when we were on the train that I realized my mistake. When I went to check, not a single item had been touched.
Location: another interesting aspect of this hotel with it it was located in between two distinctly different districts. To the right you could join all of the touristic activities of San Marco, while if you exited the hotel to the left you had the ability to enjoy a slightly quieter district. This also applied to train and bus access because one could either take a more complicated route me under throughout the city, or choose an alternate route and reach the train station or the bus depot relatively simplistically
Only stayed for 2 nights but would have been happy to stay many more. Nice location on small busy canal with real Venice life happing on it. Convenient location for all main attractions but far enough to be able to eat and drink out at a reasonable price.
The hotel staff were very friendly and the hotel is well positioned for exploring Venice on foot, being only a 5 minute walk from the Academia bridge. Unfortunately I had a ground floor room right next to the staff service entrance and was woken each morning round about 5:00 am with people arriving for work. My room had one small side window that you could only see out of if you stood up (the view was of a dark narrow side passage) and a skylight. The corridor outside my room smelt of drains, as there seemed to be a problem with the hotel public toilets which were also in this corridor. The lack of natural light and a view is the main reason I have not given this hotel a better rating. I don't think my room was unique, as others arrived and insisted on being moved as their rooms had no view at all, just frosted glass.
This place isn't cheap but the luxury is second to none. We chose our own breakfast each night and had it delivered to our room at a time of our choice. Just superb service. The location is also perfect and just a short easy walk to the main square.
Very easy to find after being dropped off an San Vio taxi drop off point (about a 1-2 minute walk). The hotel was easy to find from the directions emailed from the hotel and we had looked at it on google earth also. The entrance is really quirky and 'charming' with the butterfly display and we were greeted by receptionist immediately who altered the entrance doorway into a reception desk as it all looks minimalist. We arrived approximately 3 hours earlier than the check in time of 3pm but as our room was ready we were shown to our room and an explanation of the room amenities given. We were also given a detailed map upon check in with restaurant recommendations and places to visit. Whenever we entered or left the hotel the staff always addressed us asking if they could help us in anyway or enquires into our day which was a lovely personal touch. The manager of the hotel also made every effort to talk to all her residents during breakfast time which also made the hotel feel really welcoming. Talking of breakfast it is served 8.30-10.30 which we felt was a sensible time frame with lots of continental choice. The evening before check out we were contacted by a male staff member saying he would help us to the taxi stop at 6am which again was a lovely personal touch. He even had a hot drink ready for us although we had to decline due to the time factor. We were offered a breakfast to the room on the day of departure but we also declined this due to how early in the morning it was
Dorsoduro is home to the great art institutions of the Gallerie dell'Accademia and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, and the landmark church of Santa Maria della Salute. However those who take the time to explore the area, and particularly the eastern section, will find some of Venice’s most picturesque squares and alleys. The area also benefits from the influence of the university with some lively bars and nightlife (rare in Venice).
