Fabulous choice on the island of La Guidecca. We are a family of 5, and their largest apartment worked perfectly for us. Only 2-3 vaporetto stops from the Piazza San Marco, these accommodations would cost you triple if they were on the well-beaten tourist path. We stayed in late April, which can be cold, and since Italian law prohibits heat from being used after mid-April, our rental apartment was rather chilly at night, and could have used more comforters. Beyond that, we were thrilled ... with the view, the modern and chic decor, fabulous bathrooms, fully stocked kitchen and flat screens in every room. Take the Palanca stop on the vaporetto if you're willing to take a slightly longer walk to see the local shops (bakery, restaurants, etc) available to you; go the extra stop to Al Rendentore if you want the shortest distance.
This hotel is situated on The Grand Canal with water taxi service at the door taking you to San Marco ever 40 minutes. A very good first impression on arrival. Check in was a bit slow but give the reception staff credit as a guest in front of us was finding it hard to understand everything and kept asking the same thing over and over. The area around the hotel was quiet with a few small restaurants nearby.
Our room was very comfortable with a king sized bed which was cleaned every day. The Wi-Fi was a bonus with no problems with connection. The bathroom was large and had all toiletries you needed. Breakfast had lots of choice from continental to cooked. Staff in the hotel are very friendly and helpful; they work very hard.
We used the Sky bar each night which though a bit more expensive than in Venice itself was worth it. The views were fantastic and you received a large slate plate of nibbles with your order.
I was a bit disappointed that the swimming pool was closed as its not open until May!
As we had an Executive room we had access to the Executive lounge were we got nibbles. coffee/tea. water and juice for free. Between 5pm and 7pm there was wine and beer. Well worth the extra cost.
Best thing about the Stucky apartment was the location - but I wish I'd paid the high cost of staying at the Stucky hotel!
Disappointing accommodation and overall experience. At check-in I was asked for cash up-front and didn't have enough so had to be walked to the nearest ATM. (Was there for business and couldn't make myself available at any other time).
Apartment was clean and comfortable but let down by dull decor, no shower and non-functioning TV and oven.
Daniella, the host's representative was helpful when I met her at check-in and helpful in arranging water taxi.
When you stay at a B&B, you are staying in someone's home, and you can never forget that. They always have more restrictive atmospheres than hotels. That said, the longer I stayed at Ca' Isabella, the more I liked it. It has the kind of plumbing that is unique to Venice, and it takes some getting used to, but it makes up for that by having an excellent location. It is not located on the main islands, it is on the island of Guidecca, just south of Venice proper. Because of that, it does not have the hoards of tourists roaming the sidewalks and alleys. Guidecca is more relaxed and comfortable. Hotel doesn't have a lift (elevator), and the rooms are not on the lower floors. They served a full breakfast every day, including meat. The people are pleasant, especially the older woman. The beds were comfortable. There is a public laundromat two bridges away, beyond the Palanca waterbus landing. Look for a "T" sign over a shop. That is a tobaccoist (cigarettes), and they sell waterbus tickets, each good for a set amount of time. We bought one-way tickets to get to the hotel 7.5euros each, two-day tickets for 30euros each, and one-way tickets to return to the train station.
From Palanca pier, take waterbus 2 to get across the lagoon quickly, or waterbus 4.1 to take a slower route to one of the San Marco piers. Make sure waterbus 2 is going in the direction you want. The list of stops and the direction is posted in every pier, but some piers have separate waiting covers.

The room was clean and very comfortable. I stayed in a 16 bed mixed dorm and it was easy to sleep, even with so many people in the room, because the bunk beds have walls on one side to block the light. It was a bit tricky to get to by boat since its across the water from the main attractions, but that also meant that there weren't a lot of tourists and people trying to sell you things. I would stay there again!
We had a private triple room. Walking distance to water taxis, grocery stores, easy access to all parts of Venice. The room was clean, sunny, and way more modern than I expected. Check in was hassle free, staff was friendly.
A lovely apartment in a quiet location away from the crowds. Very friendly welcome from Luca who provided everything we needed for out stay. The apartment was a good size for the three of us and was well equipped for a short stay in Venice.

Ten minutes by waterbus from Piazza San Marco, the quiet residential island of Giudecca, is the place to escape the crowds. The only monument of note is Palladio’s church Il Redentore, focus of a major festival in late July. The atmosphere is typically Venetian and there are a handful of restaurants.
