Good hotel near the beach but no free parking.

Posted 26-Aug-2015
Pros: Pool, Sauna, and related facilities
Cons: A 4 star Hotel should have a free parking. The Hotel charges double than what can be achieved in the public parking.
Location: Good location near the Beach and the City centre.
A relaxing place. Easy access to Cinema and restaurants. No cash machines in the hotel and the nearest is around 300 meters away.

Hotel is very central and close to the beach.

Pros: Good venue to view Bournemouth air show and staff were hardworking and friendly.
Cons: Rooms need updating. Imagine it was a beautiful hotel in its heyday.
Location: Great location for beach, shops and restaurants.
We stayed in a standard room which was a good size and the beds were comfortable, but it was very dated and seemed dark. Could have done with redecorating. There was a lot of noise from the road outside which kept us awake at night and woke us up early. Towels were very small. Expensive for what it was.

Posted 23-Aug-2015
Pros: size and garden only
Cons: yes
Location: very good location
best location for hotel but unfortunately luck of service and dated interior very old hotel when walking in room or in corridor floors are very noisy. I booked the hotel and agent did not told me the breakfast is not included and facilities not included and car park you have to pay 20£ a day which I did checked on the website its dose not state you have to pay for parking.

Disappointing.

Pros: Location, bar area, garden could be better.
Cons: Staffing issues. Needs redecoration, dining area more personal not like a canteen.. reception needs sorting out.
Location: Beach nearby, town centre all easy walking distance.
Although very pleased with the deal we got for 3 nights, the hotel itself had its problems. Firstly, checking in was an absolutely chaotic, reception far to small and staff could not cope, it took at least half an hour. Then to be informed that it was £20 per night to park your car in the hotel car park we found outrageous, so we parked in the NCP car park for £12.50. We had our 5 year old grandson with us, so had requested extra bed. Room 154 nice big room with 2 childrens beds. But very very hot..two small windows felt like a cupboard, stuffy, couldnt breathe!!! We asked to move which they did but only for 2 nights asnothing avaliable. The second room was nicer with open views to the garden. A surcharge of £30 per night. The hotel itself needs updating, it was a 4 star but no way is it now. Which is such a shame. The staff appear to be lazy, were stood gossiping behind the bar, garden furniture is old, dining room felt like an old peoples home, tables in rows, no intimate dining at all food was ok, not spectacular. But buffet good value. Wine over priced per bottle.

Good location for beach and shopping

Posted 22-Aug-2015
Pros: Prestige and location made me choose to stay at this hotel.
Cons: Nothing to comment on given the age of the building
Location: Good for beach and shops
Good Buffet Dinner, and nice bar area to relax in the evening

Could do better!

Run better and cared for better this could be a great hotel. Good location and pleasant garden. Oscars Restaurant nicely presented and good value. Infuriatingly complex method of charging to room. Tired rooms and public spaces. Dangerous steps and stairs along corridors.

Do not stay here. Total rip off.

For a hotel that was expensive to start with I was amazed to be told I would be paying £20 per night to park my car. £7 each for breakfast. £5 for the pool. There came a point where I felt I would be paying extra for toilet paper. The hotel was tired to say the least. Lost of damp patches. Rusted edges in pool area. Fittings that had been taken down and holes just left. The pictures make it look like it had old world charm and are very flattering. It is just old world with none of the charm. Avoid and stay in one of the more modern main stream budget hotel. Which will be much better value for money and probably a much better experience, without all the ridiculous hidden costs.

Amazing location but a little tired

Posted 14-Aug-2015
Had a very comfortable stay. Hotel was spotless and we had a fantastic deal. Yes they charge for anything and everything but you know what if you know that before you go then your prepared £2 credit card few to pay or 50p debit card few Car park £20 a day Use of gym sauna etc is £4 or £5 if you want a towel The staff cringe a they tell you probably because they get so much grid about it but to be fair I had no problem payin fr the spa Breakfast was lovely Eve meal in oscars was a deal 2 x 3 course meal with a bottle of wine do £45 and it was fantastic Yes the holt is a bit tired but it is spotless The gardens are stunning The rooms we stayed in were not updated but they had loads of hot water and were spotless towels changed daily and all the facilities we needed Can't complain Had I paid top price ten I think I would be disappointed but we paid £60 each a night in a twin room with breakfast and were delighted I would go again
