Superb hotel overlooking Torbay

Posted 24-Apr-2016
Pros: It's position, close to the harbour and centre of town. Easy to get to by car.
The hotel was well placed for a visit to Torquay. The view from the ample balcony was excellent and so was the view from the breakfast room The room was large and well furnished, nice bathroom.

Wonderful! Beautiful!

Gorgeous period hotel! Chandeliers. Large staircase. We got the ocean view room; well worth the money. Beautiful. Breakfast was simply lovely. Dinner was good. Parking is easy and plentiful. We stayed 3 nights and used it as a base for looking around the area.

A View over Torbay

Posted 10-Apr-2016
Pros: The building was built in 1863 but the extensions were modernist but the public rooms had echoes of a by gone era.
Location: Use the bus service to visit Brixham and Dawlish and explore Torquay but not for those who don't like hills!
A pleaser comfortable stay, our room was recently refurbished to a good standard, the dining room has. A stunning view over Torbay and the breakfast was good. The hotel is situated on a very steep hill we found the parking in the area difficult and expensive and used the local bus service that was very good, we left the car in the hotel car park for the duration of our stay.

Convenient met my requirements.

Posted 07-Apr-2016
Pros: see above
Cons: see above
Location: N/A
the room needed refurbishment , paint work scuffed bath chipped carpet worn . But clean and comfortable , nice sea views . The public areas were well appointed the waiting on attentive , the food very nice. breakfast was more expensive than it needed to be . But overall an enjoyable stay, i would use it again in fact i was thinking about asking for a corp rate , i am MD of a large health / social care company that is developing into south Devon, it would be helpful to have a reduction in the tariff as i would then authorise its use to other senior managers / Directors .
