Elegant but comfortable

Posted 18-May-2016
Pros: The view from the balcony and the historic charm of the hotel. The scenic footpath along the cliff. The staircase was amazing. Lovely guests.
Cons: Food. I did not eat here but some of the guests did complain that the meals did not meet their expectations. Cappuccino made me smile!!!
Location: Outstanding location. Minutes walk to the marina and shops and buses while maintaining a peaceful and quiet atmosphere. Incredible views of the sea.
Welcoming staff and extremely helpful. Our room was spotless and comfortable. The antiques were amazing and the fresh flowers in the lobby were magical. The view from the balcony outstanding. I would recommend a room with ocean view. Coaches started engines early at the front entrance and could disturb sleep if you are a late riser. Otherwise a peaceful and very comfortable sleep.

Ideal location.

Posted 13-May-2016
Pros: Nice staff.
Cons: Make the parking free.
Location: Near town and beach.
Nice hotel, pleasant staff. The decor could do with a bit of TLC here and there though. Not happy about having to pay to park my car. I believe ALL hotel parking should be free.

Brilliant hotel great amenities and views

Posted 30-Apr-2016
Pros: Location to sea beaches and town centre
Cons: I don't think anything could have improved even the weather was good
Location: Plenty of coastal walks , good pubs, restaurants, cafe's serving cream teas, boat trips, ferry to Brixham, TorquayMuseum, Living Rocks, Theatre
Staff very welcoming and gave us a complimentary upgrade from a standard room to a deluxe room. The room was very spacious with a balcony with sunbed and 2 chairs looking directly over gardens and sea. A fabulous view to wake up to. The room was clean very comfortable , superb bathroom with overhead shower, toiletries and bathrobes and slippers. Breakfast was in the conservatory overlooking the sea, a good variety of dishes on offer, staff very attentive. Lovely spacious lounge and conservatory to sit in , indoor pool and jacuzzi to relax in, staff at pool very helpful. A very enjoyable stay will definitely return

Superb hotel overlooking Torbay

Posted 24-Apr-2016
Pros: It's position, close to the harbour and centre of town. Easy to get to by car.
The hotel was well placed for a visit to Torquay. The view from the ample balcony was excellent and so was the view from the breakfast room The room was large and well furnished, nice bathroom.
