Needs updating

Rooms need to be updated. Only things free are Wifi and parking. No complimentary breakfast. Also ice machine in lobby, which is a building at the front of the property. You would have to walk or drive to get ice if you are in the buildings in the back of the property.

Wouldn't Go back

Old, loud mini fridge woke me up every 10 minutes the first night. Thought I was booking the hotel next door.

Convenient, close to the University

Pros: Checking in was quick and efficient, and the rooms are easy to find.
Location: It's close to the University of Chicago, and there are a lot of restaurants and shops along 53rd Street.
I stayed here overnight because I had to go to the University of Chicago on the following day. It's a nice, cheap hotel just minutes away from the University by car. The parking is also free, which is a huge plus for me.

Closer to Chicago. It is quite..La quinta next door has more new rooms.free parking though

Motel, not Hotel

This place is in definite need of refurbishing. The location is fine, but the room was very dated and did not have a clean feel about it.

ok but...

The room was ok, on par with its star level, pretty clean, but furniture is old, in-room phone cord was broken, no in-room safe. There was a big gap between the door and door jamb on lock side so you will see plenty outside light come in and make you feel the door is not closed or locked securely.

Not that bad, good value

It was much better than the reviews told me to expect, but the door did have an opening in it (it didn't fit the frame perfectly so it left a crack in it). WiFi didn't work at all for us.
