Another place for choice of "peace of mind"

Posted 29-Aug-2016
Pros: Since the beginning at reception, this is why it is rated "high score" by trip advisor
Cons: Some renovation might be useful and needed as hotel has been used for quite some time.
Location: Night Bazarre and local fresh markets like Warorot Market (well known)
Even staying in raining season, still feeling warm with pleasure reception

Hôtel superbe avec personnel pareil

Posted 13-Aug-2016

Just outside Old City, but perfect distance.

We found the hotel to be good, maybe needs a little upkeep, little paint. Customer service was not their strong suit. Compared to other 4/5 star hotels, they need some training.

Worth to stay but too many choices in Chiang Mai

Posted 04-Jul-2016
Stayed only one night at Empress. The hotel conditional was well maintained than expected that i didn’t notice it has been running over 20 years. The request i made on booking was fulfilled. The deluxe room was nice that even better than their photos on website. Personally not prefer the small statue they put in the room. A nice fruit platter and a small snack bag were complement in the room. The a/c was strong but we turned the direction other way round then was fine. The king size bed was comfortable. Breakfast buffet was standard and enough for a good day start. The price I booked was really worth. Only the reception staff were acting cold and not hospitality as a kind of hotel representative.

Pros: Everything!
Great hotel, AMAZING staff. Paul W. the assistant front office manager was fantastic and helped us book not only a driver for the day when we wanted to tour around outside the city, but also helped us book our transportation to Koh Samui after our stay. Everyone here was delightful, the breakfast buffet was plentiful and they even gave us a lovely bag of chocolates, chips and crackers! We also received adorable little wooden elephant keychains during our first breakfast. The tuk tuk drivers down the lane were hilarious and fun, so polite and helpful. Loved everything about this hotel and would highly recommend it and would definitely stay again! Chiang Mai is our favourite so far and The Empress was part of the reason!
