This hotel is fascinating and full of Olde Worlde charm. It’s got to be one of the most interesting places we have ever stayed. However, we stayed in room 4 and the shower either had no water or the very slightest trickle. When we mentioned this to a member of staff he told us it was due to gravity and lack of pressure and they weren’t allowed planning permission to do anything about it. So in other words be prepared for no shower and to have to wash in the sink. If we had been there for more than one night or I had needed to wash my hair I wouldn’t have been happy. The only other gripe was they were stingy with breakfast. The full English breakfast was described as small on the menu and we had to pay an extra £4 per person for more food. Also you either get juice or tea/coffee, not both. Apart from this our stay was perfect and we loved the experience of staying in a 400 year old building.
