Not what we were led to expect...

Very disappointing. We were looking for a hotel that was clean, comfortable and inexpensive but that was also near the airport (we were on foot) and where we could get a meal. The room was fine. Staff were pleasant and helpful. We booked this hotel because, from the information on the hotels.com web page, (1) it seemed to be within easy walking distance from the airport (2) there was a "free shuttle available on request", and (3) there was a "restaurant which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner". Sounded perfect.
Despite booking a week in advance, the hotel had no record of us. Fortunately they had a room available so this was easily resolved. We had discovered that, although the hotel is near the airport, getting there on foot would be difficult and dangerous as it involved crossing busy roads with no footpath or crossings. However when we tried to arrange the “free shuttle” we were told that none was available. Later, when we tried to book dinner in the restaurant we were told that it was only open for breakfasts. When we asked about local alternatives it transpired that, other than cheap fast food outlets, there was only one restaurant that would be open in the evening. We went there (negotiating the busy roads as carefully as possible) and it was OK, but not what we’d hoped for. A small point – there was no bottled water in the room, despite this being promised on the web page.
Overall, what was advertised was not what we got, and we won’t be booking this hotel again.
