Four night stay in city centre for ease of travelling. Easy to get to by car. Valet parking R75/night in secure parking lot. Busy hotel but not noisy in rooms. Adjacent to Greenmarket. Close to No5 Hop on Hop off bus stop and ticket office. Surrounding streets have beggars at nightfall so avoid. Rooms ok but A/C in ours old and noisy. Bathroom small although large shower.
Meals in The Dish ok but pricey although bar meals ok.
It did what we wanted it to do.
Me and my friend really enjoyed our stay in this hotel , nothing to complain about really, allocation is perfect, next to the famous Long street, breakfast variety was big, staff was helpful and friendly, the only thing is that the lift was broken in our last day so we had to carry our suit cases all of way from the 4th floor but guess if we would ask staff to send someone to help us it wouldn't be an issue at all.
This was my 5th stay here and I loved it just as much this time as the last 4. They've updated the bedding and linens, so things looking fresher. My only complaint would be they don't have the highest-quality most-luxurious mattresses; while brand new, they are a bit on the firm/unpadded side for my softer American bedding taste. The staff was as lovely and as helpful as ever, and the breakfast too divine.
We had a wonderful loft room. This was accommodation over 3 floors, including 2 bathrooms, kitchen, lounge, dining room, huge bedroom and office. Couldn't believe it because we only paid £37. Staff were lovely, however be prepared for the slower pace of customer service that happens in Cape Town everywhere. Good choice at breakfast, small but lovely pool, Internet is extra unless you organise it when you book. The Internet can be very slow in CT. Parking is extra so Taxis are popular (use Unicab or Excite) but walking to the Waterfront takes 20 mins or so. Government Park and museums close by, the Castle is good esp the free tour ar 12pm. Rugby museum and Robben Island worth a visit as well.
When I arrived I was unhappy with my room which was very small and didn't have a view - it was literally a wall two feet away. I was immediately moved to a bigger room with much more natural light for no extra charge. The staff were without exception friendly and helpful and the hotel has a very nice feel to it.
