If you are looking to be on a beautiful beach, close to shopping, restaurants, and the beach. The hotel staff was terrific. Extremely helpful with even a very late check in. Amazing place and team and will be back again to stay on our next trip to Cape Town.
Went for a short break with my husband just before Christmas. Hotel is in a great location just opposite the beach, with great views. But what made it special was the staff, who are always happy to see you and help you. Would definitely return again to Cape Town and be staying at this hotel again.
Located in beautiful Camps Bay, this hotel is close to all local attractions. The staff were always courteous and friendly. This was the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in. Immaculate! The views of the ocean in the front and the mountains in the back are breathtaking. If you want a great place to stay, stay at The Marly.
Excellent, safe hotel with wonderful staff. Very helpful. Short walk away from the beach, great dinning areas, and other tourist attractions. Only downside is there is no Internet access in hotel rooms; it is only available in the hotel office.
Absolute fabulous from start to finish. A huge thanks for the reception staff that had the savvy to figure out that we were a family booking into 2 rooms and although Expedia does not afford the luxury to book a minor separate in a room, the hotel staff had put my wife and I in the suite and my daughter in the adjacent room. Great ambiance, great food, great grounds, great walks, great fire places, great staff. We will be back.
KLM fed me some poisoned breakfast on the 2nd leg of a 3-legged dog, 32 hour journey here, leaving me vomiting from both ends on the flight from AMS to CPT. This gave me the perfect excuse to do what I came here to do - absolutely nothing. I'm going into day 3 of a 4 day stay and have only left the hotel once to get anti-acid from the store down the street. I just wanted to come here to say I went to Africa. I dont want to annoy a lion or try to bury some white guilt in visiting Nelson Mandela's prison cell. I just wanted a bar and a pool and a decent hotel. If you say you are going to be in Africa, nobody expects you to check email or answer a phone.
POD is a place you'll need to write down the address. No taxis seem to have heard of it which makes it even better. The pictures on Expedia are pretty but it's better in person. The staff were so friendly at check-in that I thought I'd been roped into a time share scam. But no, they're just that overcompensating. Breakfast is great, restaurants a block away for later. Free mini-bar? Unheard of! 2 restaurants that deliver but be warned - pizza place has pasta that you could throw at your shirt without leaving a red stain. Bring your own sauce. They have it at the same place that sells anti-acid.
As I type this at 330 am outside by the pool in a post-modern IKEA dream-tunnel patio, I can hear the waves crash on the beach across the street. I'll try to get a picture of me on it before I leave, just to look like I'm interesting.

I highly recommend the Glen. Its very clean and quiet and the staff are wonderful. On one side of the street is the actual hotel (built in the 1920's). and on the other side of the street is where the Glen Apartments are located. Guests can use the amenities at either location. In addition, you can order meals and beverages at the hotel and have the bills added to your room charge. Its really a great place. The units come with full kitchen and washer and dryer. Very Convenient. The owners have multiple hotels in Camps Bay and allow guests to use amenities at the Sandy B Beach Club. We are looking forward to our return next year.
Thought was a little expensive in relation to hotels previously stayed in during this trip along the garden route, but guess you paying to be near the city of Cape Town.
Was clean and spacious, with a balcony - however the people staying in the room next door were unaware they were sitting on our part of the balcony i.e. outside our balcony door.
Large shared kitchen and lounge (which were lovely) came as a surprise to me - I obviously did not read the room description adequately! And for that reason would not stay again - but other people could well be really happy with that kind of set up, but not for me.
Overall good place to stay in Camps Bay and close to the bus stop for the red tour bus.
