Driving up to the hotel I thought it had closed down, gardens have not been serviced for ages. We had two rooms of which one had three squashed flies on the wall, no towels and a dirty shower. The other room stank of smoke when it was opened, no toilet paper, no coffee cups, coffee, tea and sugar sachets scattered on a table not in a holder, empty water bottles and a sock under the one bed, epoxy glue blobs covering the cracks in the bath and a shower head pipe that was to short to reach the shower head hook on the wall. At 3am a group of people came from a party and decided to continue their party in the courtyard where all the room doors lead too, so we had no sleep from then on. I have now learnt the value of reading reviews before paying for accommodation. It is vital.

The hotel is very close to the main road. I did think £3 for parking was a bit steep, especially in a rural area. The check-in process was quite quick, and the room was on the ground floor. The sink was not altogether clean- a few hairs on the rim- and the tea cup was not entirely clean either. I slept very well- a big plus- and the room was well heated. The shower was rather leaky, and needs to be repaired. So, overall, a bit rough around the edges, but worth the price paid.

The guy who showed us the room was friendly and polite. The room was absolutely not what was showed in the picture and described on the website. The bed was on the floor, dirty pillows, dirty toilet, humidity on the wall. It was horrible to see. We left as soon as we saw this mess. Price not refundable. Unbelievable.

Absolutely terrible
Dirty,run down,unsafe.Unhelpful staff,cold showers.fixtures hanging off the walls.Heqter that barely blows out hot air,sounding like an aeroplane taking off. Hotel was a mess and in need of a massive investment.probably was nice once upon a time but it’s clear no money has been spent on its upkeep in a very long time.looks nothing like the pictures.Told room would be ready for 10,arrived at 12 and told not ready until 2pm. Shouldn’t be allowed to have this on the website

Stay away from this hotel.
I've made a reservation for a friend to this hotel through hotels.com and i wish i didn't. My friend was heading to sandy from Scotland to pick-up a car, on the way he received a call from the hotel so they can collect the payment (fair enough) they provided him with a padlock number for the get and a code for the room. And explained to him that no one will be there. When my friend has arrived he walked in to a freezing room with no heating with a small portable heater sitting there not even on. The shower is electric and was very cold to use as well. For £101 a night that is shocking. I've tried calling the hotel today few times but no answer. And i wonder why businesses go bust. Avoid at all costs unless you wanted to book in a ghost hotel.

It's a bit grim
This hotel seemed like a convenient spot for my business trip to Cambridge. I arrive around 10pm to find the hotel in darkness. After much banging on the door and phoning I got to speak to someone who didn't understand what I was saying and annoyingly kept calling me 'Brother'. He didn't understand that I was standing outside in the rain trying to check-in! When I did get in I found the room was about the worst I've stayed in. no proper room key, just a combination lock, it was cold, grimy and miserable. The bathroom was old and badly stained and the shower dribbled water so you barely got wet. Need less to say I didn't eat or drink anything in fear for my health, nor did I sleep in the bed. I needed to sleep fully clothed anyway as it was so cold and the heater vastly inadequate. I waited for morning and at 6am made my escape. Hotels.com were brilliant and tried to solve the issue but my warning to all travelers is to find somewhere else - anywhere else really.
