Good hotel in the centre of Bayeux

Posted 17-Aug-2015
Pros: it was very central, quiet and had a good breakfast
Cons: it could do with a bit of upkeep
Location: right in the centre, 50 yards from the Tapestry, 100 yards from the Abbey and 20 mins from Arromanche.
we stayed here for a night on our way back to Le Havre. The B&B is in the centre of town, about 50 yards from the Tapestry. The owner was very welcoming and helpful, showing us on the map where everything was and recommending restaurants. The B&B is based round a courtyard with a lovely garden and cats and dogs running all around. The family room was at the top of two flights of narrow stairs, so be warned if you have heavy bags. the room was good, a double room and a bunk bed for the children. It could do with a lick of paint and upkeep but was perfectly ok. it was also very quiet. A very good breakfast was served with fresh pancakes and it was about 90 mins to Le Havre. A nice place to stay.

The stuff is wonderful, breakfast was tasty, but could be better organized. If you get a small room prepare to be flexible when you gao around the bed.

Very Nice Bed and Breakfast Hotel

Posted 24-Jun-2015
Pros: The service could not have been better. The grounds and gardens are beyond my expectations.
Cons: Nothing! I especially liked the old charm. Such a difference from everything modern in California.
Location: Of course, the Normandy tour, time after on our own including a 3-D movie about the invasion. Dinner and shopping in Bayeux.
The grounds and garden are outstanding -- such a pleasant surprise. Our host was very helpful with parking, directions and other info we needed regarding our Normandy Tour. Bayeux is such a quaint, nice little town with interesting shops and restaurants. The house is easy to find, behind a locked gate and wall. The breakfast room was fantastic as was the meal service, the bedroom was sufficient for three, however the bathroom was huge. Wish I could have stayed longer.

Perfect getaway in Bayeux

Posted 07-Jun-2015
Pros: The setting, the owners, the decor, the dogs, the personalized attention, and especially the breakfasts.
Cons: Refreshing towels and providing more of them.
Location: Charming town in a great area. This B&B is a short walk to town on a lovely quiet side street.
Look no farther if you're vacationing in Bayeux. This place is a gem. The staff is great, the breakfasts were fabulous, and the room was charming. The property is very old and could use some improvements/updates, but there was nothing negative to our experience at all and this may be typical of the old buildings in Europe; just don't expect a five-star hotel and you'll be fine. The staff was also very helpful in providing travel and dining tips. Also the location was perfect—just off the beaten path so nights were quiet. I would HIGHLY recommend the Aggarthi.

Beautiful B&B

Very nice, clean, small room, 16th century ambience with beautiful garden and nice breakfast area. Nice owners, very helpful, and good location to both train and old town. We recommend it!

Sehr schönes B&B

Posted 08-Apr-2015 on Hotels

Cosy, warm and convenient.

Lovely B&B within 5 mins walk of the Tapestry museum, cathedral and restaurants. There was an excellent pub nearby as well. The room was cosy, warm, and had all the usual facilities. Parking was in a private yard. All in all an excellent place to stay.
