We had 3 nights at this wonderful Motel which well deserves it's place along with the leading hotels in Byron Bay. We were met by friendly staff who took us to Bungalow 3. It was like a home from home with open plan living/dining /kitchen area and separate bedroom with a king size and large single bed. There was also a shower room with a toilet. The facilities were more than adequate and if we required any extras we only had to ask. The bed/pillows were comfortable and I slept well. I can't explain how comfortable and welcomed I felt at the Sunseeker. Graham and Deborah just have the knack of making you feel at home. I could have stayed much longer if I'd had the time. I forgot to mention the huge cat, also trained with the same friendliness without being intrusive! It was nice to be able to relax by the pool after touring & some families took advantage of the open BBQ.
The Motel is set back from a main road about a mile from the town centre. It's so quiet at night that you would think that you were in the middle of nowhere. Just nature to listen to. Go up the road opposite the Motel (Mackay) and keep walking straight, you will cross part of the national park area and come to Tallow beach. It's a beautiful beach and was almost deserted. Lovely clean white sand, stretching for miles. No facilities but who needs those when you can take a picnic and have the dunes and the sea. There isn't a lifeguard so I would walk to the right to the Tallow creek for safe swimming
