Small, over priced room

Posted 25-Sep-2015
Pros: Fixtures and fittings tasteful. Comfortable bed.
Cons: Remove shower door. Tea towel provided. More teabags.
Location: Good location, close to restaurants, beach, shops.
Very impersonal because we saw no staff, only received a phone call with codes for front gate and the room. We found the room very small being mostly filled by the bed. No lookout except the window behind the bed looking out on a corrugated iron fence. Fittings were all new and modern. Shower, although a nice design, had an awkward door which meant when you came out of the shower it prevented you reaching any towels so it was necesary to then step into the main room in order to close the shower door! No towel changes or replenishment of supplies such as teabags. No fridge in the room, only a shared one in common area. No on site parking. Could clearly hear noises from other rooms.

Cosy room

Posted 31-Aug-2015 on Wotif
Pros: The quaint room
Cons: bar fridge
Location: Within walking distance of some excellent cafes, bars and coffee shops. Walking distance to unique shops
the Bay Haven Lodge is a unique, cosy accommodation option for a quiet weekend getaway. We arrived quite late but the checking in process was quick and easy. Just a phone call from the gate had us inside in minutes and discovering the quaint aspect of the room. The bed was comfortable, the room well lite and the bathroom, though small, was adequate. One disappointing discovery was the absence of a bar fridge as we had bought some wine which we would have liked to have kept chilled.

Great room so close to town

Posted 30-Aug-2015
The room was beautiful and comfortable. I had a small issue with wifi connection in my first room and after notifying the owner I was quickly moved to a room with a better connection. The owner and the manager were both super lovely people. Perfect location, so close to town and the beach. Always free parking out the front. I would not hesitate to stay again on my next visit!

Do your research before booking!

Posted 18-Aug-2015 on Wotif
Pros: Well maintained and clean property and friendly staff
Cons: Accuracy of information on facilities
We booked this property as our regular Byron accommodation was not available at the time of our stay. Our Deluxe Suite was advertised as "overlooking the garden", with "free parking" and a "rainfall showerhead". Our room had a window overlooking a fence, the free parking was outside on the street and the showerhead was a standard model. We were not able to use any kitchen facilities and these facilities, the property carpark and the spa on site was reserved for those in the more expensive accommodation rooms. The property is clean and the staff friendly but we feel somewhat misled by the advertised features and the fact certain facilities are not accessible.

Great base in Byron Bay

Posted 13-Aug-2015 on Wotif
Pros: Friendly staff, very clean, lovely light bright and spacious room. Good parking space and a short walk to the centre of town and the beach.
Cons: All fixtures are for people 6 ft. I'm 5 ft - couldn't reach hangers. Homely touches such as tissues, facewasher, nice tea bags would add to comfort
This hotel is a good base in Bryon, and just needs a few more homely touches to be excellent.

Close to shops and restaurant areas, easy walk

Posted 03-Aug-2015 on Wotif
Pros: The peaceful zen garden out front with the pond and gold fish
Cons: The shower leaks, the water comes out under the door and pools in front of the toilet. Also the light switch for the toilet/shower is very elusive!
Location: Easy walking distance of shops, restaurants and cafes, the beach
Renovated whaler's cottage, lovely parquetry floor. Small and compact but exactly what we needed for an overnight stay

A haven on the edge of town

Posted 30-Jul-2015 on Hotels
We stayed at BayHaven during a weekend to go to Splendour. It was a true haven to back to - The Grand Room was beautifully appointed with no detail missed. Lydia, that manager was lovely and catered to our every need - including giving us copious amounts of tea bags (we're Brits!).

Clean and great location!

Posted 19-Jul-2015 on Lastminute
Awesome location! Shower/toilet area is a bit small but the room was clean, bed was comfortable and the location is just a very short walk from the shops and main beach. Our room came with only street parking but we always got a park right out front and had no worries or concerns. We would definitely stay here again.
