One night stay, parking close by, great location. Staff really friendly. Only negative would be the buffet English breakfast was cold and swept away bang on 10 o'clock.

Not bad at all.

Posted 30-Mar-2017
Pros: The staff are very friendly.
Cons: I'd pre-booked and pre-paid. Still, check-in seemed to take a while.
Initially got stuck in Bristol traffic and missed our turmoing. Note that parking is in the NCP behind the hotel. The location is great. Right on the river, just a minute's walk to the market. Traffic in the area can be really nasty. I'm not sure about the decor. Post-modern? Not to my taste - it feels like it's trying too hard. But that's just my opinion - YMMV.

Brilliant location and friendly staff

Posted 17-Mar-2017
Pros: I had asked for a quiet room with a view.....paid for a ''superior' one to be on a higher floor....they delivered on this.
Cons: Fluffier towels? But most things were great.
Location: As mentioned in the title, you can't fault the location....but make sure you choose the Mercure Brigstow, Welsh Back as there are 2 Mercures in town.
Chose this place for its quick access (15 mins on foot) to the railway station and quayside, central location. Also has a dated (seventies?) French charm about it....quirkily-shaped but well-designed rooms. Excellent shower, separate to bath. Welcoming, professional staff, and smooth check-in. Didn't sample any restaurant fare as went out to explore the city's cafes on the doorstep.

Hotel overlloking the water in Bristol

Posted 13-Mar-2017
Pros: Everything - position, rooms, staff & breakfasts!
Location: Set in Welsh Back, a cobbled street beside the water, interesting restaurants nearby as well as a boarding point for the river bus
Slight problem when we arrived - I had booked us 2 rooms, for myself and a friend, and asked to be on a lower floor as we are both older & slower than we were! First we were given one room! Then we were given 2 rooms on the 5th floor! But this was all swiftly put right and we were given 2 lovely first floor rooms, next door to each other and both with a view of the riverside. Chap on the desk said he had not been notified of our preferences.

Nice hotel good location

Posted 01-Mar-2017
Lovely hotel with great food Sadly our visit was marred by another guest who was partying until 4am and despite calls down to reception - nothing was done to stop it. They had one knock on their door which went unanswered - probably because they couldn't hear it over the noise - and they were then just left to carry on going. Feel that the night staff just didn't want the hassle of dealing with it.

Conveniently located

Nice and comfortable hotel, although let down this time by building noise from outside and cleaners early in morning.

Expensive Breakfast & Parking

Posted 30-Jan-2017
Pros: Location to the city centre and in a pleasant area.
Cons: Price of breakfast and parking.
Location: There are excellent breakfast bars around the vicinity of the hotel. The Old Fishmarket is a great old pub. If you require hairdressing there are many
The hotel has a good location close to the shopping area and the river. Our room was pleasant but we immediately removed the dusty and hairy throw that was over the bed. We declined to pay £15 for a breakfast as there are plenty of affordable breakfast in the streets around the hotel that sold good quality and varied breakfasts for half the price. There is no car parking provided at the hotel but they have an arrangement with NCP to park on the adjacent multi-storey providing 25% discount. However a two night stay still cost me in excess of £34 to park.
