2020 Vaca
Paradise Beach Cottage is exactly as described and shown in the pictures. Sarah was a great hostess, communicating quickly and informatively. She stopped in our first day on the island to introduce herself and answer questions about the area, grocery shopping, restaurants, etc. Sarah was always available to us for any questions during our stay. The beach in front of this cozy cottage is AMAZING! The sand, the beautiful ocean waters was everything we look for in a vacation location. Walking the beach, swimming in the ocean, soaking up the warm sun and enjoying the beautiful sunsets was the highlight of our days. We would recommend Paradise Beach Cottage to anyone looking for a laid back quiet vacation on a beautiful stretch of sandy beach. Certainly a place we would revisit in the future.

Wonderful oceanfront living - and sunsets
Perfectly situated, with the beach and ocean just at the end of the garden. Important because I am disabled, so no problem getting to the beach. Spacious cottage, well-appointed. The drive by the power plant is not pretty, but you don't see that after you arrive. Just what we expected and a lovely place.

5/5 Excellent

Paradise Beach is the perfect name
We have just arrived home from the most relaxing amazing week. The cottage is located on a very quiet beach so 99% of the time you are the only person as far as you can see in either direction. There are a few other rentals down the beach but it is extremely quiet. We had a monkey, a parrot, many geckos and birds visit us daily. The cottage is fully furnished to the point where you need to pack very little. There is a deck box outside loaded with swim toys, sand toys flippers, snorkels, noodles and boogie board. And a mountain of beach towel to use! The beach has the softest sand I have ever walked on, there is no coral so the water access is equally as soft. The washer and dryer is accessible to freshen your clothes. The freezer is full of ice cube trays and even had ice waiting for me when I arrived thank you thank you! The beds are comfortable and the twin beds can be put together to make a king. Both bathrooms are ensuites to the bedrooms so you have your privacy if staying with another couple. You're in the middle of the island so there are activities within a 5 minutes drive in any direction. There are local buses running everywhere but we found it much easier to rent a car as there is so much to see around the island. Barbados was a surprise to us as we expected it to feel so much busier being in high tourist season and it did not feel it at all, the island absorbs all the tourist very well however keeping this in mind it is very busy with cruise ships so any activities you want to do get booked up quickly and for many days in advance so we do recommend that you book your excursions either before you go or as soon as you arrive as they can get booked , including reservations for restaurants. We found the airport very easy and had rented a car and although driving on the other side of the road was interesting it was very easy to get around the island using Google Maps or Whatsapp. The only hiccup we had was upon arrival finding the cottage as addresses in Barbados do not have house numbers so your GPS location doesn't exactly get you to the right spot. I would advise having someone meet you at the airport which is a service they offer and then you can have your rental car dropped at the house our flight arrived at 4:30 from Canada so it was getting dark by the time we got to the cottage but thankfully Sarah was right behind us to meet us and guide us in. We will be back and hopefully for a longer visit. It was a five-star experience

Paradise Beach Cottage
As noted on earlier reviews, the best thing about the cottage was the view from the porch/deck. You could see and hear the waves and, if the sun had cooperated, the sunsets would have been great (we did get a great shot of a cruise ship sailing into a thunderstorm). The downside to the location, though noted as well, was the drive past the power plant--though the locals fishing nearby were always friendly and offered some of their daily catch. You cannot hear the plant, I will say. The a/c was a plus in the bedrooms; there wasn't whole-house a/c, though. We opened all doors and windows so a good, though warm, cross-breeze. The housekeeper came twice while we were there, which was nice. There were two bars/restaurants within walking distance--Rascals, which is probably worth skipping; and La Cabane, which was good for both dinner and lunch. We never met Sarah, the current landlord, but rather her father-in-law, who was helpful and showed us how to work the TV remotes. A car is a must if you go to Barbados, unless on a cruise ship. There are several beautiful gardens--Hunte, Andromeda, and others--on the north end of the island.

Diamond in the rough.....this is a awesome cottage on the beach, the sunsets are amazing.
As in previous reviews, there is a diesel power plant adjacent to rear of property, there is also 2 abandoned resorts to the right. So its everyone's perception to how this affects them, we like it because it limited crowding on beach. Barbara is a gracious host always looking to help you enjoy your stay. The only downfalls were the extra firm mattress which we compensated by putting pull out sofa mattress on top and the the small sewer smell coming from laundry room and second bedroom bathroom. This was by far the very least concerns of our stay due to the beautiful beach and cottage. Her neighbor Whitney was a wonderful elderly man who we grew to enjoy having next door. We would definitively recommend this cottage to those that can appreciate its location and not looking for perfect 5 star accommodations but a diamond in the rough....also a side note, you should always bring all property in cottage when locking up for the night, we had a pair of flip flops and sunglasses stolen at night on deck....lesson learned, bring everything inside, but I would definitely return for a stay at this beautiful cottage and very attentive owner willing to go out of her way to ensure you have a great stay
