"A great place to stay in Brighton"
This small hotel is superb. On arrival my wife and I received a very warm welcome from David and Eric who were very helpful throughout our two day stay. Our room was modern and very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked to our liking. The hotel is ideally situated on a quiet street but is just a short walk from good restaurants, pubs, busses and taxis. I would thoroughly recommend Guest and the City for an enjoyable stay in Brighton.

"Lovely chic B&B "
Found this gem of a Brighton B&B by chance when unable to find hotel for one nights stay on a very busy weekend (5/9). Very glad we did! Prime location, practically on beach and just opposite Brighton Wheel. Hosts Richard and Lorraine both lovely, friendly and knowledgeable. Breakfast faultless. Can be a little noisy at night but only to be expected and ear plugs are provided should you need them, we found the noise added to the atmosphere! We left wishing we were staying longer and will most certainly be returning. Worth noting that good deals are available for mid-week stays. We would highly recommend this B&B for a lovely stay with that personal touch you would not find in a hotel.

"Impressive for last minute find"
The lady who greeted us at the hotel front door, was nice, but found her bit pushy, wanted to seem to get us into our room before we could either breath. She was abit impatient, but part from that, great stay. The hotel room was very clean, good first impression, the bed was really comfortable, clean and presentable. The bathroom was to high clean standard. But the bathroom could do with better quality towels and a few spare for a shower.

"Good location to Brighton Pier"
Experience was just below average due to the following: 1. stained carpets in room which was not attractive or welcoming; 2. extremely smallest bathroom / shower, which means you could not shower the child, as no space between shower and wall; 3. very pleasant staff: 4. very convenient to location of Pier and Sea Life; 5. unfortunately it rained everyday so it became cold and windy. 6. very small area for breakfast but good options

"A good option for a short stay."
I stayed in the Amsterdam for one night and I was very pleased with the whole experience, the room was very competitively priced and was clean and tidy when I arrived. The staff were very helpful with all my questions about the area and their parking advice was spot on. I didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that, but I have absolutely no problems recommending the Amsterdam as a goo option if you're staying in Brighton for a weekend visit.

Nice welcome, room was fine and the bed very comfortable. Only downside was the breakfast was not particularly big or filling. I would book again without any hesitation.

Pocket Guide: East Sussex Blue Reef Aquarium Hotels

Home to acre after acre of outstanding natural beauty and a wealth of lively and historical towns, East Sussex is the ideal holiday destination. Across the county, picturesque villages and hillsides are dotted with fascinating attractions, promising the perfect trip for visitors of all ages. One of the most popular attractions in the seaside resort of Hastings is the Blue Reef Aquarium. Fortunately for visitors, the town is also home to some of the finest hotels in East Sussex.

    Underwater Delights

The Blue Reef Aquarium in Hastings is home to some 40 different habitats, housing sea creatures from all around the world - from local shores to exotic locations. The centre point of the aquarium is a stunning underwater tunnel, where visitors can get up close and personal with the sharks and rays, without all that unpleasant biting! Other highlights around the aquarium include African bullfrogs, pythons, tarantula and seahorses.

The Blue Reef Aquarium boasts a café and shop, and puts on regular events for kids. It's also an ideal place to hold children's parties.

    Historic Seafront Location

The Blue Reef Aquarium is situated right on the seafront, opposite the famous Hastings Fishermen's Museum. From the aquarium, it's a pleasant walk along the historic seafront, which is lined with independent shops, as well as places to eat and drink. In the summer, the beach is a great place to swim and enjoy the glorious sunshine of the south coast. The beautiful Old Town of Hastings is just a short walk away.

Hotels near the Blue Reef Aquarium

With such an excellent location by the sea in the popular resort of Hastings, it's hardly surprising that there are plenty of fabulous hotels, B&Bs and guesthouses in the surrounding area. The Old Town Guest House is situated just across the road from the aquarium, and also gives easy access to the historic Old Town in the east of Hastings.

Closer to the centre of Hastings, there are a number of grand Victorian hotels, many of which offer superb sea views. Chatsworth Hotel and The Lindum combine this excellent location with reasonable rates all year round.
