About this property
Get away from it all! Restored 1800 log cabin on 40 acres - NO cleaning fee!
Welcome to the Andrew Behm cabin, Visitors to the cabin will enjoy a peaceful rural experience while viewing the breathtaking views of the rolling foothills of Adams County. Named after the first family to settle the land in the 1800’s, Behm Mountain Cabin is a relaxing spot in the wilds of Adams County, Ohio. The cabin is reconstructed from the original stones and hand-hewn logs of several historical structures, originally built over 100 years ago. Relax in front of the wood burning fireplace and enjoy a peaceful night's rest on one of the three queen beds with pillow-top mattresses. Behm Cabin sleeps up to 6 people - great for a family retreat. The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen with unique concrete and antique counter spaces; if you choose to cook everything you need is available. There are two full bathrooms with tiled showers and provided linens. The master bath has an antique sink and rock counter. Behm is intentionally low-tech, however there is a T.V. on Dish Network and a DVD player provided. If you need phone service, please bring your cell phone. Our cleaning charges are included in the base price, so there is no additional added at check-out!!
The property includes 40 acres with abundant wildlife and some walking paths. The area is a peaceful place to grill-out and sit at the picnic table under the timber framed gazebo. You can also relax by the fire pit and stargaze or let the kids catch fireflies. Complimentary firewood for fireplace and outdoor fire pit is provided.
There are several attractions all located 30 minutes or less from the cabin. The world famous Serpent Mound, the Wheat Ridge Amish Community and shops, the Edge of Appalachia and Arc of Appalachia nature preserve hiking trails, Chaparral Prairie and Davis Memorial hiking trails, Ohio Brush Creek which is great for canoeing, kayaking and fishing, Adams Lake State Park, Shawnee State Park, Mineral Springs Lake, and the Adams County Quilt Barn trail.

The cabin was totally unique and provided an amazing experience. Everything was well planned with clear instructions on location, use of the fireplace, all the appliances and kitchen equipment. The cabin was very clean well kept and it exceeded my expectations. The host left a personal note and provided contact number if anything was needed. The cabin is located in a remote location which adds to its charm. The cabin is full of very interesting unique 1800s log construction with modern conveniences. The cabin is well designed and build with care. It cabin will not disappoint. It is a wonderful place.
The cabin is just as advertised. I would recommend it to anyone. Very peaceful. Saw plenty of wildlife. We will definitely come back. Serpell, thank you for the awesome cabin and delicious cookies. Thanks again,Mark.
My friends and I had a blast here! This is by far the nicest cabin I’ve ever stayed at and it’s a very nice place to relax without technology for the weekend!
My wife and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary here, pictures do not do the cabin justice. If you want an early settlement feel with modern amenities, this is it.
The cabin was updated and decorated very nicely. It sits on a large property with a few paths to walk. It was well stocked with kitchen and bathroom items, as well as wood for burning. Nice little hideaway place that has a few solid trails nearby. We really liked the Buzzards Roost trail.
The cabin and property are just as described. The cabin has a rustic feel, but has all the amenities one needs. It's very clean and very comfortable. The property is remote and private. One must follow the instructions sent, not your GPS for the final driveway, but it's clear with those instructions.
We reserved a stay for our parents' anniversary gift and they had a wonderful time! The cabin is absolutely beautiful & the views are stunning. So thankful for the hospitality shown to them while they were there and are grateful that they had such an amazing time away! Thank you for making it such a memorable trip for them! They had nothing but amazing things to say about their stay!
My husband and I stayed here for a couple days for a short honeymoon. We couldn't have been more pleased. The cabin itself was just beautiful. Everything was clean and easy to find. The owners take great pride in what they do. We will definitely be back!!
Unbelievably quiet. Gorgeous location and cabin. Everything one needs is there. Smallest details thought of. Just lovely! We will be returning in the Winter.
My husband and I celebrated our 22nd Anniversary at the cabin. It was so clean, relaxing, and beautiful, and had everything we needed. We also enjoyed the surrounding area, including Chapparal Prairie where we saw wildflowers and butterflies. The bed was comfortable and we loved the big cozy chairs inside for reading. We also used the firepit and had our Anniversary dinner out under the picnic pavilion. Love this cabin and hope to return! Also, the hosts made us a wonderfully yummy zucchini bread ! So thoughtful!
We had a lady’s weekend at the beautiful cabin. It is even better than the pictures. The cabin was clean, cozy and was decorated so well. It felt like home. The property was unbelievable mid-October. Many colors and not a neighbor in sight. We were able to sit by the fire and catch up in this tranquil setting. It was everything we’d wanted and more. Check in was easy. The owners even left a welcome note and a homemade loaf of bread. Perfect with morning coffee! We’d love to return.
Best place in Ohio! This is a beautiful, simple cabin that is a delight to visit! We celebrate Christmas here each year and wouldn't do or any other way! Everything ya need is privileged and the hosts are super!
