Nice hotel for a short stay

Pros: The breakfast was simple, but decent
Cons: Finish updating the rooms, especially the bathrooms.
Location: We didn't do anything nearby. This was just an overnight stop.
This hotel had some updates, but needs a few more to complete the process. The hot tub had black around the edges, and some of the floor tiles were missing. Breakfast was simple, but decent.

Good Choice

Pros: Very good hot breakfast offering. Better than the expected.
Location: Very close to the capitol. Museum and grounds are well worth a look. Shopping and restaurants close by. Overall a good travel experience.
The staff was friendly and accommodating. A friendly greeting and helpful suggestions for getting to area attractions was welcome.

Pet Stayed Free and Priced right

Pros: The price fit our budget and pets stay free.
Cons: Add a small refrigerator and microwave.
Location: Near to the Interstate and plenty of restaurants. Easy to find and plenty of parking space.
Kelly Inn has a free pet policy which was great for our purpose and the biggest reason for us to stay there. Once we arrived we were pleased to see the room was nice and clean. Best bargain for our money. Big pool area with a great hot tub. Exercise room was small and lacked adequate exercise equipment.

Cons: Cleanliness, and upgrade rooms with thermostat
Carpet was old, warped/wavy and had not been vacuumed; there were pieces of dirt all over the floor. Supposedly non-smoking, but bedding smelled like smoke first night. Old fashioned boiler system so the heating unit didn't work; no thermostat. Dim/poor lighting in the room.

Basic but clean

Driving from Montana to Wisconsin and stopped here on our way. Not fancy, but it was very clean. Just off the freeway, so it was very convenient. Continental breakfast was just right.

Staff was not courteous, housekeepers rushed us out of our room, front desk had NO idea why the pool was closed and she didn't explain much of room amenities or anything. We were put into a handicap room when we wanted a tub in our bathroom. The breakfast was cold, tasted artificial, and undercooked. The hallways weren't secure, as in the exit doors didn't lock, people drinking, partying, walking thru all night. Overall, we won't be staying here again, nor will we recommend it.

Never going back

I have stayed at the Kelly Inn numerous times but it has been close to three years sense staying at the Bismarck location. I booked two rooms for my son's birthday party and called the hotel to make sure they could make the two rooms be ajoining rooms and they said that would not be a problem. When checking into the hotel I was informed that they could not make the rooms to be ajoined and my room was not ready until 2 hours after check-in. Never going back this place is a joke

I wouldn't stay again. Alarm didn't work they didn't do the wake up call we asked for. We were there on business and due to no getting the wake up call missed a meeting and lost out on a 3000$ contract. Plus had to reschedule meetings and due to that had to stay another night. And the General manager still has not addresses the issue. I did leave a letter and business card. When I called to address the issues she mainly said I was wrong and didn't read letter. Said she would find letter and call to address the issue and still has yet to do so.
