I am surprised this hotel is still in business. It is almost comical how collectively inferior it is to its competitors.

Nearly perfect stay.

Had a minor car accident on the way to the hotel, due to the country lanes and bad weather. However, made it to the hotel in one piece. The hotel itself is beautiful, inside and out. We didn't stay in the manor, but down the driveway in the cottage/small house. I don't know if we were the only ones in there, as we didn't hear or see anyone else during our stay. The room was large and very modern. Caught a giant spider in the room, but this hotel is out in the country! Only trouble we had with our room, was no hot water. Didn't notice this until the morning. I had a tepid shower and my partner passed. I mentioned this during checkout, but the staff member didn't seem too concerned, saying it must be broken again. The breakfast was excellent. A large selection and quality food. A member of staff did help me with my car in the morning, so we could be on our way. Overall, I would love to stay at this hotel again, just check the hot water before you get in the shower!

All great except - somebody else had a key to my room - and came in - luckily I didnt give them any nasty shocks but it could have been embarrassing

Pre-Gatwick overnight stay

Posted 02-Nov-2015 on Hotels
Stayed here overnight prior to early morning flight from Gatwick. Beautiful old building, nice bar inside and good food for reasonable prices. Room was comfortable, as was bed. Bathroom was huge and elegantly decorated. Handy for airport - easy 20 minute journey from middle of countryside. All this for a fantastic price :-)

Business overnight

Arrived from the airport in the early hours of the morning and was greeted and booked in by an alert professional member of staff!! In other places that's not always been the case. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choice.

Not as expected

Posted 21-Sep-2015
Booked through Expedia as attending a wedding there. When checked in we were told we were staying in a lodge about 5 minutes walk from main building. As my husband uses a crutch we said this wasn't suitable but said they couldn't change room. We were not notified of this when booking. We paid upfront, but when checking out the hotel charged us again.v

Convenient location near M25. Located in the country side, not much around if you dont have car. Found the facilities excellent. Stayed in a modern annex near the main building. Modern and clean room, spacious with all facilities including iron and ironing table, tea/coffee. Room was Just a bit far off the car park. Food quality was average, good presentation and excellent service.
