Family stay for Legoland and Thorpe Park

Posted 04-May-2016
Pros: Hotel pool is good for kids - large size
Cons: Pool temperature would ideally be a bit warmer Not really family friendly for evening meal, but plenty of other options nearby
Location: Convenient to major roads. Not far to the centre of Maidenhead. Good Toby Carvery nearby, and pizza hut in the town centre
Good hotel Helpful staff and large public areas in good condition. Coffee bar and large screen TV in the lounge Plenty of easy parking Rooms are large and modern - the bathrooms are a bit small but OK Good choice of food for breakfast Would stay again - recommend it

All great apart from evening meal. Staff were fab

Staff were really lovely. Breakfast manager was a lovely guy and the food was great. The room was a great price. All great apart from the Thai green curry which was a travesty. I could overlook it as the kids ate for free. I would definitely recommend as a stop over :)

Nice Hotel

Posted 06-Apr-2016
Location: Near Windsor, Reading therefore all the tourist things of Berkshire
We stayed here while we visited friends in Windsor/Langley/Marlow. Centrally located and generally a nice hassle free stay

Holiday inn Maidenhead

Posted 05-Apr-2016
Pros: Rooms, Swimming pool and gym
Cons: Staff training and an improvement to the quality of the food.
Location: The location of the hotel was good for Legoland but if we were to return we would stay at the Travel lodge in Windsor as the locality was better.
We had a two night stay at this hotel in a family room as a base from which to visit Legoland. The first thing that we noticed is that building on the outside looks tired, having said that the interior of the hotel was very well kept, the reception area and bar dining area were great, the pool and the leisure facilities were fantastic and the family room with two double beds was clean and perfect for a family of four. I think the hotel is let down by its staff though, our greeting by the young lady at the reception OK but couldn't have been less cheery. Later, in the evening we decided to have a family dinner at the restaurant, the dining room doesn't open until 6.30 which is fine, but when you have two young kids to get to bed if the food order isn't taken for some time, and the food doesn't arrive for another hour, then the kids do become a bit restless. The dining staff were in attentive and didn't come to check on us. The quality of the kids and the adult food was appalling, I had a simple burger which was tasteless and had the consistency of rubber! and the wife's Chicken was of the same standard. Even though the kids eat free,I still felt that we we paying over the odds for food of this quality. Needless to say we didn't return for dinner. Contrary to the above the breakfast was very good, and I must say that the Maitre 'd of the dining area was very friendly and made us feel very welcome, she is a great asset to the hotel staff!

relaxing for a short break

Posted 03-Apr-2016
Pros: The health club was really relaxing.
Cons: Toiletries were a little sparce but we managed.
Location: Not lots to do nearby, the river etc. Could be used as a base for Legoland.
Lovely break; the staff at check in were fine. There were no queues at check in or check out. The room was smart and had everything I expected. We used the health club on both days. We had a meal at the Blue River Cafe in the evening. On our return, we used the bar - a little busy but good service. Paul is a credit to the hotel. We were welcomed to breakfast by the very efficient and customer orientated Maureen - another excellent member of the team. It was self service, not too busy and easy to get what you needed. All in all I would recommend this hotel.

Nice hotel, good location.

Very little to fault with this hotel. Staff friendly and helpful, everything clean and tidy, excellent breakfast and the location offers easy access to all transport links, but especially to central London. My only gripe is the bar prices, which are definitely set for guests on business and, therefore, expenses. I would use this hotel again and recommend it to others.

Lovely hotel brilliant staff

Posted 08-Feb-2016
Pros: Facilities and the staff are a credit to the hotel. Very welcoming and accommodating for families with your children.
Location: There is the nature reserve round the corner and a cinema also a nice Indian restaurant, then there s Windsor castle and legoland and ascot racecourse
Myself my wife and my 18 month old son stayed here as we were visiting family. Straight from checking in the girls on front desk were friendly and very welcoming and were very attentive to my son and they formed us about the free milk and cookies in the evening for the kids at bed time etc. The facilities were lovely and clean and nice a peaceful so we could take my son swimming in the pool which was warm. Breakfast was fantastic lovely and fresh and yet again the waiting staff were brilliant towards my son chatting to him getting us things he needed and paying particular attention to the cleanliness of the high chair he was given and there was a wide variety of breakfast for kids and toddlers. All in all brilliant hotel and staff and we will be back very soon.
