Right on the Ocean!

Posted 07-Feb-2017
Right on the beach with great ocean views! It is an older hotel like many are in Barbados. I read reviews before I went and got what I expected, a 3 out of 5 so I wasn't disappointed. The rooms are clean but don't expect to get into a room before 4pm on arrival. Food was good, we always found something to eat on the buffet. The upstairs restaurant was really good! The beach was great and not too crowded like some of the beaches close by. Mainly an older crowd of travellers. Everyone was friendly and staff were pleasant. No big nightlife here but we were not looking for it! You will have to go to the Gap for bars/restaurants/nightclubs which are a short taxi ride away. My only negative was a problem with hot water which was fixed.

Pros: See above.
We were looking for an all inclusive resort, on the beach, in the Caribbean and with a direct flight from Boston. After a great deal of research we came across this hotel that seemed to fit the bill nicely. We read all the reviews and although some were a little negative, we booked with full knowledge of what to expect. A warning - if you are looking for a 5 star hotel, with spar treatments, elaborative evening entertainment and all the bells and whistles, this is not the hotel for you. However if you are looking for a relaxing experience, with genuinely helpful staff this is the place. It is situated in the south, only 15 minutes from the airport. The staff were very welcoming and our room was more than adequate, opening onto the pool area. We did read a complaint about the size of the pool and to be honest unless you are an Olympic swimmer, it was delightful. The food was perfectly sufficient, with an a la carte restaurant that we ate in twice at no extra charge. It was exceedingly good. This hotel is right on the beach, with perfect white sand and some waves. Our bay connected to a larger beach and it was possible to walk for 10/15 minutes passing grander hotels. We spent two days with a rental car touring the island, and came to the conclusion that we had really lucked out with one of the best locations and value for money. Drinks were great!! Many guests had been returning for years. We did not want to leave.

Pros: View and Wif-Fi
Cons: Everything!!!
Location: remote need taxi to go places
There is no bell man/security to greet you as you come into the driveway Staff wear no uniforms to identify them as staff to guests. The location was great and quiet The beach equipment is old The food and drinks are local influence which was nice to see The front desk staff is very unorganized I was charged $2 per night to use the safe There is no ice machine in the property The bed was horrifying to sleep on It was WAY WAY WAY overpriced!!!

Close to beach but old with no amenities.

Posted 29-Dec-2016
Hotel old, no amenities, nothing nearby, gift shop closed entire time of trip, concierge never on duty or always late, staff not helpful on activities in area or how to get to them. Hotel pretty much shut down by 11:00 with nothing else to do in the area. Would never recommend this hotel.

Positive: Room was comfortable. Hotel is on the beach, extremely friendly and professional staff. Negative: wifi only works in the lobby area. Entire hotel shuts down around 10/11pm, not exactly an all inclusive hotel - there should be a 24hr snack bar at least. The entire compound is smoke free so if you're a smoker like myself, you need to walk to the front of the compound to have a cigarette.

Lovely spot on the South Coast

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and always available. Would say that room standard was not great and I was surprised that soaps and shampoos were not replaced.

A great place to base yourself to see Barbados.Good location & pleasant staff. Not the best hotel on the island but then you're not paying the premium others on the island expect.
