About this property
Ayr - Stunning 3 bed detached house 5 mins to beach & golf Family & Pet friendly
Chesney Lodge is located within a quiet, established neighbourhood and has all the facilities you will require for your stay. It is ideal for couples, families (with or without kids) and furry friends (dogs).
Chesney Lodge has been completely refurbished and equipped to the highest standards. There are 3 large bedrooms, a family sitting room with large Plasma TV and Freeview Box, free Wifi, a separate dining room, kitchen and bathroom with bath and waterfall shower on the ground floor. A separate Utility Area housing the washing machine and tumble drier is directly outside the kitchen in a covered area and available for your use.
The fully enclosed and secure garden has a decked seating area with BBQ and plenty of room for children, animals or both, to play within a safe environment.
Upstairs there are two large bedrooms and a full bathroom with shower over the bath.
The bedroom on the ground floor has a King Size bed which is quite low to the floor, so perhaps better for the more agile of my guests. The other two bedrooms have King Size beds which can be separated in to singles if required.
Two full bathrooms complete with showers over the bath, are located on the ground and upper floor.
Dogs are welcome at Chesney Lodge but I would ask (and based on my own experience with my dog) that you bring your furry friend in from the beach via one of the side doors. There you will find a Utility Area with outside water hose and doggy drying towels. This will hopefully reduce the amount of beach entering in to the property. Tempting as it is, I would also ask that you do not allow dogs to sleep on sofas or beds please.
Please be aware, there are a few steps to the front door and at the back door, therefore, in my opinion, the property is sadly not suitable for the infirm or wheelchair users.
Take a 5 minute gentle walk to Ayr beach, passing by the beautiful River Doon, bring your bike, or bring your Golf Clubs and take your pick of the Municipal golf courses of Belleisle and Seafield both within a 7 minute walk from the house.
Ayr Town Centre is a 5 minute drive or 30 minute walk from the house although there are numerous top class restaurants, cafes, pubs (most dog friendly) and shops within easy walking distance.
Ayrshire is not only known for being home of numerous top class Golf Courses but also home of the Scottish International Air Show, Ayr Agriculture Show and of course, the fun of Ayr Racecourse, home of the Scottish Grand National and William Hill Gold Cup Festival, to mention but a few.
Ayrshire is also Golfing country. Several top class courses are within a short 20 minute drive (Prestwick St Nicholas and Prestwick Old Course, the site of the first ever Open Golf Championship) Drive on for a further 10 minutes and you will arrive at the stunning Royal Troon Golf Course, again, host to previous Open Golf Championships. Alternatively, you might like to take a trip to the infamous Trump Turnberry Luxury Resort, splash out with afternoon tea, a spa treatment or treat yourself to a round of golf at the magnificent Trump Turnberry Golf Course. Indulge in history and visit the National Trust Culzean Castle and Country Park, a tour of the castle itself is a must. Hop on a ferry and vi mighty, almost a Munro, Goatfell! You can, as many do, take the first ferry over, climb Goatfell, or cycle around the Island, have a light refreshment on your return, and jump on the last ferry back. Great fun! Burns Cottage & Museum, birthplace of our national bard, Robert Burns, and the famous Brig O'Doon is a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk from Chesney Lodge. If you have room for more exercise there are many beautiful walk and cycle tracks close to the house, flat or the hills, your choice! Train links from Ayr will take you to Glasgow in 50 minutes or to Edinburgh within 2 hours. Or simply relax in the quiet, safe and fully enclosed rear garden. I look forward to welcoming you to beautiful South Ayrshire and to my lovely home. Fiona
