Katie Ann's Cottage on the Wild Atlantic Way, Sligo, Ireland

Adults-only holiday home in Aughris
Trip Advisor 5 star Excellence Certificate.

Escape away to Katie Ann's Cottage, nestled along the magnificent Sligo coast of the Wild Atlantic Way. This 150-year-old cottage has a large cosy open stone fire, 2 bedrooms, beautiful gardens and converted stone barn BBQ area. 10-minute walk from Atlantic Ocean, 1.5km from Dunmoran Strand, 5-minute drive from Beach Bar, Aughris (thatched restaurant). World renowned surfing beaches at Easkey (19km) & Strandhill (27km) are both under half an hour by car. Enniscrone (30km) & Rosses Point (30km).

THINGS TO DO:
Aside from the beaches, rocky coastline, surfing and golf, other highlights of the stunning Sligo mountain walks include the majestic Ben Bulben and the mystical Knocknarea, where legend has it that Queen Maebh, the ancient Queen of Connaught, is buried. On the South face of Knocknarea is a 60ft cascading glen. Hidden from the world, this narrow chasm is rich with flora and provides an unmissable 1km long walk in paradise.

The megalithic passage tombs at Carrowmore, Co. Sligo are some of the oldest and most significant in Ireland, dating back to 3700BC. Other activies for the kids, like horse riding, indoor Karting, swimming, a brand new Zero Gravity Skate Park (the largest of its kind in the North West), mountain bike trails, Gillighan's World (enchanted Faerie Gardens and miniature village) and even an Eagle sanctuary (the largest in Ireland) are all available around county Sligo.

For some free fun for the very little ones, there's a first class playground and running track a very short drive away. A half hour away by car, Sligo town is easily accessible, with cobbled streets, shops and restaurants along the Garavogue river and old style pubs offering a flavour of Sligo's own renowned style of traditional Irish music. Or, if you want full immersion into the country side, there's a great local shop less than 5 minutes walk away.

GETTING AROUND:
Bringing your own car is strongly recommended as Katie Ann's Cottage is located in a rural area with very limited public transport.
