Excellent location, right in the centre of Town.

Pros: Great location, easy access to all restaurants, shops and Amsterdam Central Station.
Cons: Perhaps room air conditioning and certainly a Fridge, but it is Amsterdam and the place to be is anywhere but your Hotel room!
Location: Its near almost in the centre of Amsterdam, what more can I say?
Excellent location, right in the centre of Amsterdam. Very large room however, no air conditioning, no refrigerator and one noisy fan. Nonetheless, comfortable and clean. Unlucky the stay in Amsterdam was on some of the hottest days (+30 celsius) they have had this year.

Does what it says on the tin.

We wanted a room for 4 people that didn't cost the earth but was still convenient with kids. This hotel was perfect for that. It is a bit run down and old but the important things work well and we would stay there again. Great location and breakfast is a good deal of you book the day before as it is 7.5 Euros and gives a good start to the day.

Posizione ottimale in pieno centro a due passi dalla stazione centrale e dalla fermata del tram. Ottimale rapporto qualità_prezzo.

Noisy red light district hotel

Posted 06-Jun-2016
Pros: The staff were nice.
Cons: They need to put in new carpets to get rid of the musty stale smell. Have smaller serves of scrambled eggs and renew with fresh batch to keep them hot
Location: Near the train station. Right in the red light district if that is your thing.
We were very disappointed by this hotel. It was chosen for us by the Travel Agent for its short walk from the train station about 800m. Due to a mix up I booked our room through Expedia to be in the same hotel as our friends. But it was located in the red light district so if your room was overlooking the streets you had the street noise all night long until dawn. If you were near the elevated you had the noise of the revellers returning to their rooms stomping past your room. If you were lucky enough to get a quiet room, it seemed like it's not used or cleaned often enough because it has a musty stale smell that hits you in the face every time you walk in. Very disappointing. Not value for money either as quite expensive to be in the centre of town. Breakfast was not included and was fine for the price but the hot food was cold.

Average and overpriced

Posted 05-Jun-2016
Pros: Good location.
Cons: Don't let the basement rooms. They are pretty horrible. Sort out the blocked shower. Staff could be more friendly.
Location: Good location near dam square and the station. Near to palace and both churches. Near to nice places to eat etc.
The hotel was in a good location, near to the train station and Dam Square. However I thought it was too expensive for what it is. We were put in a basement room which was horrible to say the least. Think 80's decor, smell of sewage, right next to the laundry room and not much light. The bathroom was clean though, but was let down by the shower which had a blocked drain. Suffice to say you don't get much for your money in terms of hotels in Amsterdam but I wouldn't stay there again. The staff weren't especially friendly. They did let us leave out bags in the baggage room but all they do is give you a key. There was no receipt or tag system. We did joke that we could take a few bags each and no one would notice!

location location location

Pros: the location of this hotel is the most convenient feature
Cons: the rooms could use a makeover, the floor was lumpy and i'd hate to imagine all sorts of things underneath the quite shabby carpet.
Location: it's a street parallel to the dam. it is so near the central station where you can take the train to anywhere in the Netherlands .
a family member was attending an event in beur van berlage and the location of the hotel was perfect. it was near a police station and can access many transportation routes and tour pick up points. convenience stores, restaurants, and shops, as well as known amsterdam landmarks are accessible by foot from this hotel's location. a taxi stand and the amsterdam central nearby--what more can you ask for. it is not the best of hotels, down the street I would have been happier if I was able to book the victoria or other hotels of similar cost and apparently better amenities than the tulip inn, had I prepared for the trip and booked earlier. nonetheless the tulip innn gave a no frills good value for money. the staff were customarily polite and obligatorily helpful, not as a warm as a five star, makes me feel that they shell out exactly the same amount of service as they are paid, to the last euro. it is quite helpful that the hotel is NONsmoking all throughout. there is enough secondary smoke and even weed smoke in the streets of Amsterdam that this hotel's feature made it a safe haven.
