We had a relaxing 3 night stay with Carolyn. Lovely bedroom with large en-suite bathroom in a peaceful, rural location. We enjoyed the breakfasts as well as Carolyn’s home cooked evening meals, both of which gave lots of choice. We didn’t want to leave! Thank you Carolyn 🙏

Very quiet peaceful location. Extremely comfortable super king bed. Very good choice for breakfast and first rate cooked choices.

Breakfast was superb, nothing was too much trouble. Disturbed on some nights, noise and shouting from other parts of the Farmhouse!! Close to Alnwick. Also my wife was allergic to the family cat 🐈‍⬛

Rockmoor House was a lovely place to stay - about 6 miles from Alnwick. The room was large and very comfortable. The bed was massive and really comfy. There was a wide variety of options for breakfast, which was excellent

Amazing location, close to Alnwick and the beautiful Northumberland coastline. The property had beautiful large rooms, well furnished and very comfortable. Our host provided lovely breakfasts with a very good choice for all tastes. We hope to be back before too long!

The room was clean. For the price of the room, the tea and coffee making facilities were very poor. A nice biscuit would have made it better. Breakfast was good. Plenty of choice.

We'd love to come again!

A fantastic stay - we liked it so much we stayed an extra night! The breakfast was wonderful: really great selection of everything including home baked bread (still warm!), local kippers and great scrambled eggs. As well as really good tea making facilities in our room there was always great home baked cakes to have with our afternoon tea. Location also really good with really easy access to the coast and Alnwick: lots to do (and eat!)

We were well looked after by members of staff. Breakfasts were really good with excellent choice. Bedroom was of a good size with good wardrobe & drawer space. The lower area of shower externally was not very clean!

Great location

Brilliant. Fantastic accommodation. Breakfast is superb. Lots and lots of choices. Great location. Not far from A1 so you can easily access all of the usual sights. Caroline is a great host. You won’t be disappointed coming. We’ll certainly go again.

Northumberland country house escape

Quiet, secluded, extremely comfortable English country house. Everything about this place is top quality without being over the top. Large very well decorated and furnished bedrooms with modern en-suite bathrooms. Breakfasts from full English to bagel and lox, fresh fruit, cereals, they have it all. Charming and welcoming host. We were there for a wedding in February held at another country house, pretty much out of season but the location is typical beautiful Northumberland. When we travel this way again we will surely remember to come back.

Beautiful setting, large rooms that were very clean and well stocked with shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, handwash and lotion as well as hairdryer. Yea and coffee facilities in the room as well as nespresso machine were in the hallway. Large selection of breakfast, liked there was an effort to ensure food was locally sourced. Cooked breakfast was okay, eggs Benedict not so great. Staff could have been more welcoming and friendly, checkin it was like they weren’t expecting us at all and I felt I was an inconvenience and putting them out.

this is a lovely property tucked away off the main A1 road about 10 minute drive from Alnwick. On arrival we didn't feel the greeting from the host was in any way personable so that was not a good first impression. we were told on arrival the breakfast starts at 8 and ends at 9.30 ; ourselves and another couple were down at 8.15 and the cereal choices were all out but no milk or hot drinks and the host finally appeared at arounds 8.25 and seemed surprised we were already there? After that the hot drinks and cooked food choices were swiftly taken and two more couples appeared and it seemed as though the staff were not fully prepared but once everything arrived the quality of the breakfast was very good but again no personal conversation about how we slept; did we find somewhere to eat the previous evening etc. and for a house with only 5 guest rooms i expected more personal interaction. Our room was clean and pleasant and the bed and very comfy and very quiet; the light / shaver pointover the sink in the shower room didnt work which was a minor inconvenience. These niggles made this a 3-4 star stay as opposed to 5.

We stayed here for two nights to attend a nearby wedding. The accommodation was lovely. Large spacious room, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing. Carolyn was very welcoming and went out of her way to ensure we had a lovely stay. Would definitely recommend.
