The property looked nice, the bathroom was nice, and the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing. The room was cold, and I couldn’t find an extra blanket, so I didn’t sleep well the first night. The cigarette smoke smell was also extremely strong. I understand smoking is permitted in the listing, however, as a nonsmoker, it was overwhelming. I ended up buying candles and incense and leaving the door open to try and air it out, so this room is not ideal for nonsmokers. There was also no hot water in the shower; it was lukewarm at best. There was no Wi-Fi, and I never got a response when I reached out. Since I rely on internet for work, this was a major inconvenience. The Roku TV had plenty of apps but no internet to use them, and there were no live TV channels either, so it was essentially unusable. Also two large dogs were also outside the room the following morning. Personally, i own and love dogs, so it wasn’t a major issue for me, but there was no warning, and not everyone is comfortable with dogs, especially large ones. I don’t know if they’re were the owner’s dogs, but they came up to me while I was dressed presentably to go out, and I didn’t want them on my clothes or putting their smell on me. Unfortunately, the combination of these issues led me to book another hotel instead of staying the remaining nights. The property has great potential, but there’s a lot of room for improvement.

The little apartment was perfect. It was quiet yet welcoming. It was remote yet close to downtown and a quick drive to shopping. Victoria was responsive and a gracious host.

The room was nicely decorated. The bed was comfortable. The location was behind another house so better information about where to go would be very helpful. Although the ad mentions smoking, the room smelled heavily of smoke. This location is not for the non-smoker.

We were beyond disappointed. The property was questionable upon arrival. There’s an empty overgrown pool right beside the rental. Stairs at entrance were scary, especially the railing. There was furniture that was stained and in disrepair. The toilet wasn’t clean. One of the sink faucets was broken. The shower dripped. Only one out of six lightbulbs worked in the bathroom. There was less than 1/4 roll of toilet paper. The lock on the outside door is something you’d expect on an out building. We asked for toilet paper, lightbulbs, a toilet brush that wasn’t stuck in the holder, some comet and hand soap to replace the empty dispenser. We got none of it. We had planned to stay two nights but simply couldn’t tough it out. We informed Victoria of the situation. Her response was “You aren’t coming back”. Not sure if she was asking or telling. We requested a refund for the second night based on the misrepresentation of the property on VRBO. We have yet to hear whether she’s going to do the right thing or not. It was BAD.
