Perissa, Santorini Island Hotels
With a seven-kilometre stretch of black volcanic sand backed by tamarisk trees, Perissa is the budget end of Santorini. It offers low-cost hotels, rooms and apartments, tavernas and cafes, and a campsite. Late-night beach bars lie far away from the village, avoiding disturbances from the music. Local buses serve Akrotiri archaeological site, an ancient town buried by lava from the volcanic explosion 3,600 years ago.
