I checked in on 23/05/2015 for 2 nights at this hotel with my mother and 2 young children. We were very pleasantly surprised by our room, the layout and the facilities available. I would highly recommend this hotel and the staff are fantastic. Very Helpful and courteous. There are a couple of issues I had whilst there which are reflected in the rating but these were personal to me and I have addressed these with the hotel directly, as I feel it is only fair to offer an opportunity to respond to my satisfaction. Close vicinity to Port Sunlight Train Station with services to Liverpool/Chester taking approx. 20-30 mins. Taxi into Liverpool £17.00.Food in the restaurant in the evening was exceptional and Breakfast in the morning was very good. I definitely intend to return with my family very soon. Hopefully to try the Spa facilities.
Everything was first class from the location, the parking, to the very friendly and professional staff on arrival and to our room which was spotlessly clean, extremely warm and welcoming. The staff were very helpful in recommending a plethora of restaurants to dine at and excellent cafes all within easy walking distance of the hotel. The self-service breakfast in the morning was quite good with a wide choice of cereals, fruit, bread and hot dishes to choose from and we enjoyed our very different breakfasts.
I did have a problem with the shower in the morning because the drain got blocked very quickly while I was having a shower. The blockage could have resulted in a minor flooding of the bathroom if I hadn't spotted it. As we were in a sort of rush to catch the ferry to Belfast I couldn't report it to the hotel staff. Despite this I will definitely be staying here again and I have no problem in recommending this hotel to my family, friends and work colleagues.
Our stay at The Liver View was excellent in so many ways. Dave was a brilliant host, a mind of information and he prepared wonderful breakfasts. The position of the hotel could not have been better - just ten minutes across the Mersey to Liverpool. Off street car parking was also a bonus. Good luck to Dave and Hayley - you have a brilliant hotel!
The peninsula of Wirral offers picturesque villages, sandy beaches, and a serene getaway from the vibrancy of nearby Liverpool. Port Sunlight is a pretty village boasting the Lady Lever Art Gallery, housing some of the UK's finest artwork in a glorious building. Check out the wild, untouched Formby Beach, set amongst a scenic nature reserve full of the elusive red squirrel.
